zanetti was becoming an injury prone hitting the end of his career, you can honestly say you would have preferred him over melo?

if you say i wouldve preferred over tiago, poulsen i would say fair enough

but zanetti wanted to leave! what did you want the board to do????

i dont understand you peopel really, melo is a great player when the team is in a slump and seamingly are going out there without a clue what do you want him to do?

he has played well just made a few too many mistakes, let him settle in his new team with a new system, he is still young.

:sergio: is all i can say right now
Melo could become a great player (I believe he will eventually), right now however he is not.

To be fair though I think he'll improve over time. We have a lot of new players in our starting 11 this year, even because of injuries and not just the new players we signed. We'll need some time to gel and find our rhythm with this new formation. Once we get Ale back and Marchisio is in there again we'll be looking better.

Half of you sound like you say he's a bad player that we wait to develop.

He's very good right now but he has potential to become much better. I'm still very happy we got him. I have high hopes for him.

I don't question his talent, but his decision making on the pitch has not been impressive, and I think Juventus needs a better ball distributor in midfield that him and Momo can pass to. Maybe D'awgostino or a similar player?

Remember Melo hasn't stopped playing because he took part in the Confederations Cup and came off his holidays earlty to train with his new team mates.

He may be a little fatigued.
We keep hearing that, but he got enough rest with the few suspensions and injuries he's had this season. It's not really a good excuse when you see midfielders like Essien, Lampard, Xavi, Camibiasso playing non-stop without rest.

I don't buy the Confederations Cup excuse either. It's garbage. These are professional players here who run 24/7, and some tournament in June won't affect his playing now, or should not.

It's not like Melo has been a complete disaster either. Only mistakes he makes are the balls around our box at different times of the match, which has nothing to do with fatigue. It's called carelessness, arrogance, and/or boneheadedness.

and to be honest he had a great start to the season... like diego... but now we are drawing and losing and then things show up. if u win a game 3:1 in rom u don't care about some mistakes

Melo and Diego have not suddenly become bad players, in the same way they had not immediately become great players after a dew good games in the black and White.

It is not tiredness effecting their performance but tactics and their lack of consistancy, which, it has to be said, had been a part of their play in the past, especially Diego.

100%. The tactics have certainly not suited either players.

How is it the tactics? Diego and Melo are playing where they should in the diamond midfield, which they are used to, especially Diego. If you mean tactics by long balls, poor passing behind him, and poor wing play, then yes, it might have a little to do with it.

most mistakes occur when players are fatigued, so saying that Melo being worn out is not a genuine reason, well, that's just plain wrong...the guy said himself a few days ago that he was feeling the pinch

Playing too deep with too much space between themselves and the frontmen, as well as little to no options to spread the play outwards.
