Looks like he’s a goner to Manchowder. Sancho will come in the opposite direction.

I don’t like Sancho but not that upset to be honest. One dimensional Chiesa is nowhere near the level of the Italian greats we have had. Wouldn’t include him in the legends section.
To be honest he is the best Italian player right now and I'm not a particular big fan of him. The only problem he always faces is getting injury a lot that making him miss a few games in every season that might be why he is going down. I really hope he can find his best form because whenever he is on fire juve posture on the field would fantastic and every attack is dangerous and efficient.

He doesn't seem the type to be happy sitting on the bench and not playing for a season.

I think we should renew him at probably more than we would want to because we have let ourselves get into a position where he has one year left and can't risk losing a valuable player for nothing. The offers are not really worth considering given how low they are and I'm confident if we get to next summer and want to sell after renewing we could get them again.

He's a talented player and can open up teams. We badly lack players like that and they come at a premium. I think this season is make or break for his career given that can give a couple of seasons for someone to get back to speed after such a big injury. It would be stupid to bring him back to fitness and let someone else benefit, especially now under a coach who attacks more.

Either way because of the contract we have 2 options, sell now at a lower price or renew at a higher salary. His agent has done well to put him in a strong position, if he had a good Euros it could have really paid off for him.

It feels like there is room to find an agreement and the alternative wingers on the market aren't appealing.

The question is... why would we renew a player and pay him big wages (remember that he wants a raise in his current wages) when the coach seems that dont want him and will not use him?

if you renew him after season he had, then mcknennie and rabiot also deserve renewal at higher salaries.

If Motta has him available I'm confident he will use him.

We also don't even really know if Motta rates him or not. This stems for journalists who didn't even know about him joining days before. Even if he is open to losing him this summer, it could be because of the contract situation/the fact he's one of the few who could bring 20m+ to help fund a rebuild.

We don't know what wages he wants. I doubt Roma would offer him more than we could afford. His agent has played the situation nicely and if we want to avoid losing him on a free we will have to pay a bit more than we would have liked to extend him. A poor Euros will likely have lowered his bargaining power both with Juve and others though.

I still think the offers would be there next summer and I don't see him being the type happy to sit around like an Alex Sandro if we wanted to sell him then if we renewed.

I agree that we dont actually know for sure of Motta likes him or not... but think this... if we are ready to accept an offer of 25M plus bonus on him from Roma, there must be a reason for it, so its probably safe to say that we dont want to extend his contract (probably for his demands) or Motta dont see him in his team, or even both.

I think the only way we are selling him to whoever on a lowball €20M fee is if Juve seriously doesn’t believe in him anymore and does not consider he is worth even a €1m wage increase over what he is earning now, maybe we took his renewal demands as unacceptable behavior and are trying to move him on due to it, because otherwise it makes no sense, we have leverage as well if we want to use it, such as pointing him to the bench for the last full year of contract unless he lowers his demands, while at the same time being aware that if we renew him now he can easily fetch again next year the same offers we’ve been getting this summer even if he doesn’t have a great season, maybe even double that if he actually gets back in form.

ideal scenarios:

swap for sancho with sancho lowering wage demands
swap for bernardo silva
swap for dybala
swap for leroy sane
A swap deal might indeed be our best chance of maximizing his sell.

The situation is clear, we either renew or sell him this summer. That's why offers need to be looked at. We aren't in a financial position to let players run down their contract and maybe Motta accepts that we need to fund a rebuild and Chiesa is one of the few who can bring in a decent value. From a technical point of view he might want to keep him.

For me, he is worth renewing for the reasons I said before.

Well probably you are rigth on the "cause" on why are we selling him...but just one thing, from the latest reports Roma offer is indeed 20M but Juventus rejects that since they wants 30M... rumours said that the deal could happend on a 25M ´plus bonus... againg to me that sounds a decent offer,

I honestly still doubt Roma can offer him better wages than he is getting here… could be other teams interested though, it’s still only July, but quite sure if we do accept one of this lowball offers instead of renewing him for slightly more than what he is earning now is because Juve considers Chiesa a closed chapter and want to get rid of him while they still can, i think our position in deciding his future is stronger than what some of the media leads us to believe and letting him leave like this is more of a choice rather than us being ‘hands tied’ to accept whatever offer.

selling chiesa makes sense if you take a look at his last few years objectively. disappointing end product, plus the high salary request are both red flags

but pre-injury chiesa was a beast, look at his first season at juve or especially at his euros. one good pre-season with proper physical preparation and his next club will have an absolute weapon

i still wouldn't mind keeping him at all

if chiesa was a beast pre injury then sancho is double the player pre man united is is worth trading chiesa no question.

chiesa best season at juve was at age 22 scoring 15 goals and 11 assitsin a season

sancho at 18/19 years of age was scoring 13 goals and 20 assists per season

at 20 years he had 20 goals and 20 assists season

at 21 he had 16 goals and 20 assists per season

there is no comparison. sancho was a world class star while chiesa was unknown young player.

trade him easily imo
