Well he's being asked to operate in a completely different position. He's playing SS and he does not have a running start at the defence, which is his biggest strength. Right now, he excels mostly at just picking the ball up deep and picking up steam. He's not completely refined just yet where he can stop and start in the centre of the pitch.

I think he doesn’t match up well with Kean. Will be interesting to see how he does with Morata or Kaio. Kean’s hold up play is abysmal and tbh he’s probably best playing off a main #9.
I'd like to see Kean in a classic 442 with Morata next to him at least once.

Every player needs to be held accountable and him being awful tonight had nothing to do with any teammates. He had plenty of opportunities in acres of space and just made mistakes. It happens to everyone, we move on, but we depend on him a lot and cannot afford more than 1-2 games like this from him per season.

The kid keeps running and wasting his energy for nothing. Kean can't hold the ball at all. Chiesa is better when playing with Kulusevski who is not an attacker then with Kean. Definitely needs to rest a game before burning out too soon.

We got some here comparing Chiesa minutes with Bonucci saying chiesa played so much less yet his performance is down.
These video game experts believe that a fatigued forwards game will be effected just the same as a defenders would when in fact a little knock or fatigue on a player like chiesa will take him out of his game much more than the same knock or fatigue on chiellini would.
