I mixed up last u19 with one while back, I seen them win quite a few youth NTs past few years. They dominated in these levels. Defenitely above Italy at many of these levels.
Who cares if they lost 1 game vs Italy if they won the competition? In final vs the stacked Spain that $#@! on Italy.
Its not just 1 game though. Whatever the perception may be, they don't dominate on these levels at all. The last standout German performance, before this year, in the U21 euros came in 2009. In the U20 world cup they've never really done anything. In the U19 euro, 1 title in the last 10 years.
This German generation is definitely not one that can be put above by default when compared to other successful countries. There is very much room for debate.
They have a LOT of good depth, but not necessarily the highest quality.
