Yeah. And God bless designers, especially shoe designers :touched:

ps majed, what does our religion say on spending excessively for clothes? I do cover myself from head to toe, and my ustadzah told me it doesn't matter how much or anything as long as it's clean and covering, but spending a lot of money is a sin, no? So, what's the conclusion?

yes, the basis is to be clean and covering. but The prophet also acknowledges that people would like to wear nice clothes and nice shoes. So there's nothing wrong with getting what you like. I think it's fine to spend if you can afford it and you're not ignoring your duties to the needy, but it is, of course, "better" if you dont waste and buy stuff you dont need. Islam is about modesty. An important thing is that you shouldn't wear specific clothes be proud or disdainful.
For example, men can't wear gold or silk, unless nessesary...

one thing to note that's been bothering me a bit. Many people think that you have to wear the headpiece or an Arab-like dress if you're a muslim. that's not true at all. it

    :howler:

I think that my question in this thread is misunderstood;)

I just think that one can make a fashion statement without wearing any designer clothes and wearing something as simple as jeans and a plain white tshirt ;)
    Thats true.

But everyone is talking about different fashion here. Serge and Pado are taking about buisness man look at me i spent 10k on this suit kinda fashion. The girls are talking rediculous girl fashion that is just silly. Girls buy something because of the name and not how it looks.

Then theres the trendy fashion, Jeans and tshirts are a hell of a start :p

And its true what graham says, you can get great looking clothes that you dont have to pay loads for. Get your dam priorities right! :D

Ive never spent huge amounts on a single item of clothing, nor do i have or ever will have a D&G or Gucci or whatever the hell and i havent had any problems :D

Most of the clothes I buy are fakes or have no brand name. I go for the look of clothes rather than the brand name. Is it ridiculous to anyone else that a plain shirt's value goes up exponentially if it has a tiny brand tag on it? Some designer clothes are hella ugly and cost a fortune. It makes me want to shoot something

The only clothing I've ever felt bad about spending a lot of money on is Juve jerseys :)

what, i cant have my own opinion now? i cant be a little controversial? i cant be telling people i think that dressing a certain way is undignified?

didnt mean it personally serge(or pad), and dont get me wrong- i still love you guys.

im just saying, that rocawear, and sean john, and fubu, and phat farm all exist because of lil kids' posturing, being 'gangsta',

the only place you see p diddy (who now prefers the name sean combs) decked out in all that kind of apparel was in his music videos.

he doesnt dress like that now. why? because he's not just a clown any more(you might prefer the term rapper/entertainer). now he's a little business tycoon, with his 'street' and now 'designer' clothing lines, his tv show, movies, broadway etc.

what do you think has changed from back when he was just a rapper and decked out all 'gangsta'? its respect.

or maybe im just concerned because when i think serge in hip-hop wear i think www.wiggaz.com posterboy ;)

check it out and tell me you wouldnt be concerned :D

And what I'm telling you Josh is that the line of clothing that I buy from those labels ARE NOT the ones that you see in the music videos. The ones that I buy are from the designer line.

Seriously, there is no way in hell you would catch me with baggy jeans and a hoody. You wouldn't catch me dead wearing that shit.
