Serie-A minus 30 points still acceptable for me.
Serie A @ -10 to -15 would be "reasonable" (for lack of a better term) in the sense that relegation would be realistically easy to avoid. That's what I meant with my "wishful-thinking" post, earlier.

But -30 is an entirely different ball-game...our points tally would supposedly have to become positive before the ritorno phase. Don't forget there are tough matches out there, key players have left, Deschamps is taking on a new role. Would be quite risky.

I've accepted the whole Serie B thing a while back. Indeed it is a shitty feeling, hell, I dunno if I'm gonna be able to watch Juve on TV :(

But I like to look at the glass half full - we have a new coach who is attack-minded, has a decent group of players including some youngsters from the youth team, and it's a new chapter in our team history.

I supported this club since 1993...there's no Serie B, C, D that's going to make me change my mind whatsoever. :touched:

I have absolutely no doubt that we'll become a force to be reckoned within 2-3 years time.

FORZA JUVE!! :toast:

Milan had 44 point penalty last year, which was good enough to finish 7th in the table. However, one has to take into consideration that Milan and Juve went on a fantastic pace, despite certain let down towards end of season, and I do not think any team will replicate such performances this year.
So yeah, reaching UEFA is a possible target to achieve but it will be extremely difficult. It will almost be equivalent to winning Serie A on a excellent pace.
Now taking the current state of the team into consideration - I think we can forget about it.
And lets not forget Viola has been strenghtening their squad as if they were planning to play in CL. With Mutu linking up with Prandelli again probably playing a position just off the striker, I fear their attacking potential. Pazzini & Motolivo is also a year older with more experience. I am afraid Viola looks stronger than us on paper.
We have ATM very unbalanced, and unprepared team. Our central mid is at best reserve level in Serie A with, the exception of aging Nedved and Machionni, provide very little creativity, and penetration.
And I do not want to even discuss our defence would be like if Kovac and Buffon decide to leave. Givet would be good signing but Balza & Chiellini hardly qualify as a championship calibre fullbacks. And can everyone adjust to each other in just a month of training? I see us UEFA/Mid table team ATM & with 30 point penalty - it smells relegation dog fight.
If we stay in serie-A with -30 points, i think, our main objective is to stay out of relegation zone. I agree with you, European zone is very optimistic target. It's very hard to get.
But i will satisfy if we finish 15th in the table, whick means that we miss European competition another year. But this is surely a better situation than we play in serie-B.

Do you think that we are in serie-A with -30 points, we will relegate to serie-B next season?
Ok, we are not as strong as we were last year. But we are still Juventus. And with this current squad: Buffon, Chiellini, Balza, Tudor, Kovac (or Legro), Zanetti, Gianni, Nedved, Marchionni, Olivera, Kappo, Bojinov, Del Piero, Palladino etc...
Technically, we can say that we only deteriorate than milan, inter, and roma, same level with fio, i think. That mean we can finish 4 or 5 excluding 30 points deduction.
If we look at last season league table, we get:
1. Juve, 91 points
2. Milan, 88
3. Inter, 76
4. Fio, 74
5. Roma, 69

.....
15. Reggina, 41
16. Cagliari, 39
17. Siena, 39
18. Messina , 31
19. Lecce, 29
20. Treviso, 21

If we finish 4 or 5, we can get around 70 points, minus 30 points dedustion, we still can get 40 points at the end, or around 15 at the table.

I say we can get more than 70 points

completely disagree....
What if playing in serie A with a 30 point defeciency with a dismantled team like we have now, would result in not exceeding the 30 point mark, which most probably mean our relegation....We might be just postponing our relegation, instead of biting the bullet and play in B and get back to A with no deductions.

its a chance worth taking, because I believe that even with this team, we will be safe even with a 30 point deduction

if I'm wrong, well than we end up in B anyways....

but what if I'm right ??!!:D

Your way is a greater gamble, but if you would, think of Juve as an infant now. Pushing them in the face of the cannon could prove devestating. And besides getting a serie A -30 verdict will not redeem us. We would still be labeled as cheaters or the "mafia team"...etc. Whilst playing B and going back to A in a year would totally redeem us in the eyes of non-juve fans...

who cares ??

will you lose sleep over it if someone calls Juve "cheaters" ??

no matter what happens, they will ALWAYS have something to say about us, so dont kid yourself thinking otherwise

if no one else leaves this team, we could pull off a mid-table finish, even with a 30 point penalty

I cannot compare this team to an infant either...most of our guys have some real Serie A experience, and I think we could shock some ppl

now, all we have to do is get to A !!!

No I would'nt loose sleep honestly. I had to face so much crap that other day when I went to play a football match with mates at work. All the "cheaters" and the "Serie B Team" comments didn't make me feel any less proud, on the contrary it made me prouder and prouder with every comment. But still I don't want anybody to have anything against us....thats all.

Anyways we have to wait and see...

:agree: 100% agree with you!!

and to say our current team is infant is :disagree:

if our board think that we can get serie-A, i am sure no one will leave the club again (except ibra :D )

I am not saying that the players are infants, but that the team is young and most of them didn't play with each other that much....
