Hopefully now that Juve has pledged to focus more on youth, we will c alot more Del Piero type loyality come through Juventus.

I hope so,mate.
The only problem is that del Piero showed that he is a world class while beeing very young.
I hope that some of these players will show the same.

Funny. The Torino paper says one thing, and the Milano paper says another. Coincidence? ;)

No wonder why Berlusconi can't be trusted with AC Milan and media ownership any more than Moggi can be trusted near a sportscaster.

It seems juve lawyers are optimistic about the appeal

Saturday start for appeals Wednesday 19 July, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The appeal hearing for the four Calciopoli clubs will begin on Saturday morning, it has been confirmed.

Piero Sandulli, the President of the appeals court, has told the media that his team of judges will start assessing the club’s arguments at the end of this week.

"The appeals process, following the sentences of the sports tribunal, will start on Saturday morning at 9am [local time],” he stated.

Juventus, Fiorentina, Lazio and Milan are all attempting to overturn the rulings of the CAF court which were delivered on Friday.

Juventus were stripped of two titles, relegated to Serie B and deducted 30 points for the 2006-07 campaign.

Fiorentina and Lazio were also sent into the Second Division with minus 12 and seven points respectively.

Milan kept their place in Serie A, but were thrown out of the Champions League and handed a 15-point penalty for next term.

The initial trial has been heavily criticised by some, with claims that those indicted were not given enough time nor the means to make their case – seeing as no video evidence or witnesses were allowed.

However, Sandulli dismissed such a theory. “I don’t agree with claims that there were limitations when it came to the defence,” he stated.

There's something I don't get. All four clubs were found guilty, yet Milan is still in Serie A whilst being guilty automatically means you are redirected to a lower division. Hm.

not only that, seems like they will get Empoli's Uefa cup spot.Coincidence that milan r docked the exact number of points to be under empoli ? who were denied by the FIGC to be given a license to play in Uefa ?

Its just a shame,Rossi should be ashamed of himself for doing something so clear like this.

Oh, the conspiracies. :disagree:

As I understand it, Juventus were by far the biggest offenders in this case. Hence it's only natural that our penalty is the most severe. Nothing wrong with that in my book.

I actually hope that we do get relegated to Serie B, as it would allow us to start over rebuilding Juventus and hopefully silence a lot of critics who've blamed Juventus for everything from Inters misfortune to the war in Iraqi. A reduction in the points deduction would be nice although I don't think it's very likely. :)

the rules suggest that every team that fixed or had an unfair advantage in a game should be punished by demotion, and that didnt happen in the case of milan

we r not getting reinstated in serie A, that wont happen but the point deficit would be cut , or at least i hope.

Things are almost never that clear cut. :)

I don't have access to the exact charges against the clubs - as I suspect you don't either - so I find it difficult to suggest that Milan were let off lightly. The perception I got from reading the press reports was that Juventus was at the centre of this scandal with various other clubs involved to a different extent. They all benefited from it and are in that case objectively guilty but there's a marked difference between instigating and orchestrating sporting fraud and simply taking advantage of it or not reporting it.

In civil or criminal law, judges are given a lot of manoeuvrability to operate within the law in seemingly similar cases. For instance you and I might both run over a pedestrian but receive very different sentences.

Laws and sporting regulations are by design vague and require a lot of interpretation, so Milan might have benefitted as much as Juventus from this system of fraud - and I'm not saying that they did - but that doesn't automatically mean that the two clubs should get the same punishment.

yeah i guess it would be something like that, nothing is very clear.

But dont u think its like milan were let off easy ? ffs they r playing in europe next season. From the evidence presented in the investigation, then it showed that moggi was the center of everything(which is complete bull), the center of the alleged system.Although he did benefit juve, the other teams benefited in almost the same matter. So in sporting matters and in reference to juve(not moggi) they shouldnt have had more exessive penalties.

a while ago when ppl talked abt consipercies abt moggi, we laughed and said this is all crap. Then it turned to be different. So when ur talking abt italy, never dissmiss anything abt theories.

This time around they are this clear cut.

a) Milan, just as the others, violated two articles.
b) Violation of said articles results in immediate redirection to a lower division.
c) The logical consequence would be Milan playing in B next season.

This is clear.

Juve didn't give them enough money like Milan did.
