This time around they are this clear cut.

a) Milan, just as the others, violated two articles.
b) Violation of said articles results in immediate redirection to a lower division.
c) The logical consequence would be Milan playing in B next season.
My highlight. This is what I sincerely doubt. If you could show me that the wording in the sporting code says exactly this, I will believe you. More likely, in my opinion, it will leave a lot of room for interpretation.

Take a look at http://www.fia.com/resources/documents/1158037540__International_Sport_Code_a.pdf for a reference. It's the International Sporting Code for FIA - the automotive federation.

Check out chapter 11 which lays out the penalties that can be applied to participants in motoring events. In no case does it say "If you do A, you're punished with B", it's all left to interpretation by the relevant authorities. Their rulings will likely set a precendent so you have a general idea of what the penalty will be if you breach the rules. Not because it says exactly so in the sporting code.

Edit: missed a word

I remember i read those articles before, as they were posted quite a lot a while back.Article 6 states specifically states that , a violater should be demoted.

As i understand we didnt violate this article and nor did milan, then how come we r in serie B?

Again, I doubt that, but I'm quite willing to be proved wrong. I found a link that might shed some light on it, only it's in Italian. Can someone translate it?

as the result of the appeal i think that we should have less points deducted and have our trophys back. we were unfairly penalised and should not deserve a harsh penalty like this.

At the very least the 05 06 the investigation had nothing to do with it. I agree we have got to get some points back.:agree:

appeals start tomorrow and verdict in 4-5 days. Forget Europe.
Europe... that seems so far away. All we need to hope is a reduced point docking. We really need to get out of this Serie B swamp as soon as possible

The Calciopoli appeals trial has begun this morning as the four clubs found guilty of sporting fraud attempt to overturn their punishments.

Juventus, Fiorentina, Lazio and Milan were all found to have committed irregularities in relation to the assignment of referees and linesman during the 2004-05 campaign.

Giants Juventus were the most heavily hit as they were stripped of their last two titles, demoted to Serie B and handed a massive 30-point penalty.

The Old Lady are using the appeal to have that point deduction reduced as much as possible in order to give them any chance of winning instant promotion back to Serie A.

The other three clubs are all aiming to be cleared of all charges by starting the next campaign in the top flight with no penalties.

At present, Fiorentina and Lazio have been assigned to the Second Division with a deduction of 12 and seven points respectively.

Milan kept their place in the top tier, but were kicked out of the Champions League and given a 15-point setback for the 2006-07 campaign.

Today’s trial kicked off at 9am local time at the Parco dei Principi Hotel in Rome, the same venue where the first grade sentences were delivered.

It’s unclear when Piero Sandulli, the President of the appeals court, will hand out his court’s verdict.

FIGC chief Guido Rossi is hoping for an outcome before July 25 which is the deadline that UEFA have set to be handed the names of Italy’s European competitors.

As it stands, Inter, Roma, Chievo Verona and Palermo will all take part in the European Cup after the omission of Juve, Milan and Fiorentina.

Although the appeal sentence should in theory be the definite verdict, there is the possibility that clubs could go and seek justice in the civil courts if still not satisfied with the outcome.
