Yeah I mean its cool but like there is no point.
No point? Settlement > sell supplies > make money > buy better equipment and update the existing ones > rinse and repeat

I think some people forget - although it's also a FPs - this game happens to be a RPG. :D

There are plenty of games wich have you looking for recources to build stuff. I've never gotten into such a game but i always wanted to. The fact that this is now in fallout, made me immediatly purchase it
It's nice that they did it the same way as in The Witcher meaning everything in the world, from a tin can to a piece of paper can be dismanted and turned into something useful. To me it's a game changer to the game.

I just wish you had an incentive
The incentive is using your creativity to build anything the way you want while doing it for the well being of the people living in those places. It's having Fallout Shelter + Minecraft in the game :D

Plus once you have 20+ settlements to take care of and when they start getting raided left and right, there's your incentive.

I had a settlement attacked while on a mission and couldn't help them. When I actually went there after failing to help, pretty much everybody was pretty much dead and the place destroyed. So had to build it all again, why? No proper defense. I see plenty of incentives.

I always want to build a home or have property in a game. Its huge for me.

I was considering "planet explorers" just for that.

Now fallout does this. Sold immediatly.

Also fallout is cool.

Dont forget the unlimited settlements mod. Google it, people made insane things with it. Ill send a link when im home

That's different. That's you selling stuff from your inventory. When you build your own shops you will have people working for you while you profit from it sitting on your ass.

Anyways, as I was setting up all my supply lines, one of the provisioners took one of my power armors and vanished with it. Fucking thief!! So here's a tip: if you have to leave your power armor anywhere, make sure you take the fusion core with you. NPCs will take it otherwise.

Settlement building is great, one of my favorite parts of the game to be honest. I don't exactly have the hang of it yet though, just figured out that you need to assign people to things like food in order to actually harvest the resources. Do they have a certain radius or something? How does it work? Also, how do you get more people to join your settlement besides individually asking?

Build a radio beacon. You will need to power it though. So generator > attach wire from generator to it. If you want to use lights you'll need to build a power pylon, so generator > wire to power pylon > wire to light. Lights will only work if they aren't too far from the pylon.

I'm still learning too. Btw I think the supply lines system is bugged. It's supposed to let all your connected lines share the resources you have in your workbench, well it's not working for me. At least I don't think it is. I don't see ALL my junk from my main bench on the other benches...

Aha! Didn't know it worked like this:
When you link settlements with supply chain you don't actually get physical access to the items, only in the instance that your crafting does it use the resources from other settlements. If you put the microscope in the workshop at settlement A you would be able to use the resources it provides at settlement B but not take it out or even see it in the workshop inventory there.

I've done that, it doesn't really seem to work for me. Or at least, I haven't seen anyone new other than the possible companions I send there.

Do you have the same amount of materials though?

Build more beds. Always have 2 or 3 extra beds. People (at least one settler) should show up just as soon as you finish building the beacon. Also build a bell so you can gather everybody in one place instead of looking for them.

Yeah, the second part of my post explains what I was missing. It will only share your craftable stuff and it will not show up in your inventory.

How is the freamrate and gliches on this game?
(PS4) That first deathclaw ended up falling down the hole in the ground in Concord, one of the entrances for the Civic Access, so I just held my minigun on it while it was stuck trying to get out of the hole. Easiest deathclaw kill ever :D

I spent about two hours building what was ultimately a pile of crap, you could probably spend a week doing it tbh. I want to make Sanctuary a mini fortress.

Yeah another problem is that I want to just focus on sanctuary and not the others.
Also does it ever get attacked?

Also I instantly regret building myself a house waste of resources
