I was hoping for 8ish mil, but to be realistic we signed Cabal for 13mil who is similar age and played in top level football...

That doesn't sound too bad, it's not the 6m but the percentage sells on fee that counts more. That's important as it acknowledges our investment in him.

Facundo has a good season at samp, he's young and proven it at a serie B playoff challenger, got potential to play and start regularly for a serie A relegation battling team. I don't think 6m is far off, we got him for a bargain, and Valencia didn't want to lose him either.

Feyenoord is on a great streak though when it comes to scouting, over the years they seriously invested in some nice players.

Personally I would’ve liked to keep him, but that doesn’t necessarily has something to do with Facundo, but having a young player at his position in the team.

If someone is a young talent with a pulse, people will complain that they're sold. Homegrown/young developmental players at NextGen having a long term at Juve are the exception, not the rule.

I'd bet on players like Mbangula, Savona, Rouhi, Anghele, etc that are making their debuts early this season will be sold within the next 2-3 seasons than have a long term future here. These guys are money makers in the books and unless you have a special talent (like Yildiz), chances are you wont make it at Juve.

And even guys that probably are talented enough to make it at Juve, like Soule or Huijsen, will still be sold.

So I wouldnt get attached to any of these players.

I guess that's the point of Next Gen-- train em up and sell em. If the coaches believe they are something special give them game time and find out if they've got what it takes.

At the top the margins are really small. Starting for a true top club is something only the best of the best are cut out for, it's not going to be everybody.

If this fundraising tool can help retain our best players/sign better players, I'm all for it. Real Madrid do the same but because of their insane leverage, they put buyback options on their youth players. We don't have that kind of leverage right now.

The better ones will still end up being an integral part of the first team though so I don't see a problem here.

keep telling that to yourself. price he agreed to pay for kalulu is more than he got for huijsen. same for the both wingers, their fee and wages are way more than soule's. they were out before the summer even started and it had nothing to do with finances but giuntoli's own decision.
