You have to grant him the time it took to get into the game. Even so, he had two or three shots on goal in the first half. Was always looking for the goal. Was a totally different player in the second half once he hit his stride, and found his movement with Bendtner. Don't forget that they were paired together for the first time. Had another fantastic shot on goal which was well saved on the angle, and that pass to Bendtner was out of the top drawer.

I don't think he was woeful in the first half, because he didn't do much and there was little understanding with his partner.

The goal in the second half showed how much changed, because he was completely in sync with that move.

There's some truth in the bolded part, Rus, for sure. There is, but I didn't like his half - sorry. My opinion. Also, I'd prefer that he and Bentdner aren't given tons of time to develop that partnership, because I don't think they complement each other particularly well.

I'll support him, just like I always do, but this ain't his first rodeo, folks. Not to mention the fact that this was Bologna. I'm very familiar with the player, and while he's scored some big goals, and he scores some spectacular goal, I won't be crying when it's time for him to move on.

Its not just that Salv. In many ways he is in the same boat as Matri and Bendtner. Stop start routine each month. I really think this guy can transform into a lethal player if we give him some continuity. He had four goals all of last season with sporadic minutes. Look at him this season, with a bit more continuity he's already gotten to last seasons haul in the first two months of the season. Guys like him just need 3-4 games to find their feet and ey can unlock psychologically, playing freely, not having to look over their shoulder. That is or has been the problem with Quag and Matri. If they play freely they are very good players for a team like this, though I'd say Quag is the more complete, and so yes, in that sense, Matri might struggle if it comes down to selling one of the two.

The reality is that I'll always cheer the player because I like the player, but Quagliarella has always been inconsistent, buddy. I hope he does go on a tear, but if it were up to me I'd be starting Mirko and Bendtner next game.

Ok here's some food for thought. He has the most goals of all our forwards, in the least amount of playing time.

You're right about the man crush though. I won't deny it, but my judgment of his game is very unbiased. Likewise, I feel a lot of the criticism he gets is unwarranted because he's a lethal player. And more importantly, as my first point highlights, the most effective forward on the books, for me. If nothing else, he is a deserving candidate to get a run of games to give him an opportune to play without the pressure a stop start player normally faces.

I might be a Quag fanboy too but objectively speaking, he has scored more than 1 goal for every 90 minutes he has played while none of our other players comes even close. I really want to see what he can do playing with Vucinic.
