There is something that could force us to sell Quag this January - money.
Lots of IFs need to become a reality in order for such a sale to happen. The first is a very good offer to arrive. Papers speculate with a 14m eur demanding price. At this point of the season, Roma could very well offer such an amount. Maybe Inter too. In the summer, when there will be more options on the market, less teams will show interest for Quag and probably none will offer more than 10m. Especially if we buy a striker and it becomes obvious that we want to sell Quag. His price will fall even more.
So, if we plan to buy a top striker in the summer, if Quag isn't in Conte's plans as one of the first 3 choices for the CF spot and if an offer ~13-14m eur comes this January, Quag could leave the team in the following weeks.

I think it will depend on our other market moves. We're continuing to stack up on players, so it's only logical (I would hope, at least) that some will have to leave before the end of the month.
And Quag may just be one of the only non-starters that can get us some real money. An other point to consider is that Iaq, Amauri & Toni are still here for the time being as well, so there's plenty of last resort options.

Especially Roma could find themselves in a position where they can't choose and they will have to overpay for an attacker. Inter not so much because even if they let Zarate and the Dutch kid go, they will still have Pazzini, Milito and Forlan. But they play two competitions, their position in serie A is putting pressure on them and their strikers don't perform or are injured. Inter too will go after an attacker this winter.

Probably we won't get that. Papers only suggest that it's the price we demand, our starting price. A team in desperate situation could have no choice but offer that come January 31st. We're not forced to sell Quag so we could stick to a high price and sell if it's offered. If teams don't offer at least 12m, then we don't sell because we can always get 10m in the summer.

Hell, we barely needed him in the first part of the season, and we now have added a player whose characteristics are supposed to suit our style of play better. It's not rocket science to understand that a reasonable offer (forget about 14 million) will see him leave.

Roma is perhaps our best chance of getting serious money for Quagliarella, and that's if they spend the next few weeks messing up every deal and not signing anyone. I'm not going to count on it though.
I included Toni because he's actually been on the bench for a couple of games IIRC. I don't have doubts on Amauri going though.

This time Amauri himself will want to leave. He will probably wait till the last week of January though and pick the best offer. He got the big money from Juve and he knows it's time to move on now.
