Quag's good in the air, and has other attributes like finishing, long range shooting, and movement off the ball.

Amauri has great aerial ability, nice hair, and the body of a sex panther.

you decide which is better for us.
I don't remember him scoring much headers or even being a threat in the air. You sure you not making this up? We're gonna be playing 4-4-2, so we need someone like that.

I don't know if you think I'm an Amauri fan, I'm not. To me, Quag is just not much of an improvement.

what is the definition of flair ?

his definition of flair is doing a feint to get enough space to shoot and than shoot and score from outside of the box... enough flair for me ;)

this are the situations when you can not break down the opponents defense, because the shut down the wings ... its good to have someone how tries long range shots from outside, because that is something the opponent hardly can defend against

Oh FFS, I don't give a toss about Amauri. He is not the standard that top strikers should be measured by.

Maybe Quag would be a good signing if we had class elsewhere on the team and he would be just a functioning part of the team. But we have a bunch of woodsmen and runners.

He doesn't need his head for crosses, he will score insane volleys.

Quag is not a replacement for Deigo, why do you people keep bashing him for that?!

that's nice.
If he's not a replacement for Diego, then why is he here cause he sure as hell ain't a replacement for Trez.

Anyway, I think he'll be good this season for us, hopefully we'll make it to the Champions League which is really whats important right now.

So Krasic to take #17 and Quag #27?
If Trez leaves. And Hopefully Krasic takes 17. 27 is Quag's number.

Random thought but we still have to offload Camo, I actually forgot about him. I forgot his number, was it 16? Krasic can maybe take that.

If this were EPL, I'd believe that.
You'd better believe it.

Who says he has to be a direct replacement for the role of either player? He was brought in to play as a new forward for the 4-4-2, nothing more.

An improvement :agree:

Can you name a couple of SS's and a couple of Strikers?
I don't get what's your definition of those 2 positions.

Quagliarella is not a Striker. In my books, a Striker is a target man. A poacher who excels at positioning himself in the goal area so he can finish the move. A la Trezeguet, Van Nistelrooy (PSV, early Man Utd, Real Madrid), Gilardino, Inzaghi, ...

A SS on the other hand is a free roaming player who moves a lot between the midfield and the goal area, has good dribbling skills and can create an opportunity out of nowhere. Doesn't mean the player can't be a good poacher. It's just that he works a lot more during the match, creating a lot of movement. Examples of this being: Del Piero, Ibrahimovic, Aguero, Forlan, Villa, Dzeko, Rooney, Messi, Cassano, ...
I'd say Quagliarella fits this description.
