They are not pure strikers. They are complete forwards who are good at both positions. That's why I didn't restrict them to being "just" Strikers. They offer a lot more than that.

Ibra, Villa, Dzeko and sometimes Rooney don't play as SS. Not that they couldn't but I consider them more of complete forwards than SS.

A support striker usually plays off a CF, these players don't need one.

That's what I said.. SS's can play both behind the Striker and as the Striker itself.
A pure Striker lives in the area and "lacks" the flair and movement to play as SS.
To me a Support Striker is a Complete Forward. Definition wise.

Ahmed, where are you?

I consider a SS someone like Ale, he has skill, can score goals and can drop back but you wouldn't ever play him alone up front.

A complete FW you can.

lol, yes Kronik? I thought it was a one on one with Kyle :p

the way we are built, our SS needs to be the creative type...I think Martinez is better for that role, Quag should be the goalscorer...looking at the stats Virutal posted on the previous page, assists are also a component of Quag's playing style, so that is also promising.

Not saying I agree with what I'm about to say, but Delneri did. Though Martinez was not that far away from him..
Either way, I get your point about CF/SS differences. ;)

I'm just trying to understand why Ahmed says Quagliarella is not a SS but a ST.

Quagliarella is a striker. He can play as a SS but he isn't very dynamic.

Ahmed is right. If we play a 4-4-1-1 Martinez would be a better option.

You're welcome to join the debate anytime man :D:beer:

I think I got your point! You were saying we should use Quagliarella as a Striker, with someone supporting him. Is that what you mean?

Quagliarella is a striker. He can play as a SS but he isn't very dynamic.
I'll have to disagree with you here. Maybe we've seen different matches, because I saw the guy coming back to the midfield a lot, running with and to get the ball. I don't think he's as static as you rate him. This being said, I rate him for having seen him playing 10-15 times so that's not really a lot. :boh:
It's my opinion on him though.

By the way, I still expect someone to come in who can bang in 20+goals :p

Yea as I said he can play as a SS he just isn't very creative. I don't get what you think that we are disagreeing about?
Him not being dynamic :p If there's something I see good about him is his off the ball movement and the way he creates space for himself to try one of his long-range rockets. That's all :)

I'd give you a +rep for the debate. But I can't atm

For me, someone who plays next to a second striker needs to be a goalscorer and thats something Quag isn't judging from his stats.

If Trez leaves. And Hopefully Krasic takes 17. 27 is Quag's number.

Random thought but we still have to offload Camo, I actually forgot about him. I forgot his number, was it 16? Krasic can maybe take that.
We use some large numbers while 6, 7 and 9 are wasted. This should be sorted out as half of our squad plays with >20.

Not that it's so important.
