He's surprisingly not as slow as he looks...
yup, judging someone's speed based on movement can be deceiving. barza was one of the fastest running players, his top speed was above 35 km/h. extremely fast for an ageing, not necessarily explosive player with the build of a bear. not ronaldo who could run with 40, still pretty fast

miretti is too early to judge. he has grown lately not mentally and decision making wise, he scored his first goals, and he's still only 20. his career can go either way.

...There was this situation at the end of the match against Frosinone some days ago,...
he was subbed out around the hour mark

Yeah, my mistake, wasn't the end of the match.. It was before he was subbed around the 65th minute. It might have been even in the match against Salernitana in serie A. Whenever it was, it was sad how he was trying to reach the long ball in slow motion.

I'm afraid the era of slow, talented players ended a while ago. In modern football, a lack of pace and dynamism is often a significant drawback. While Miretti doesn't exactly mirror him in characteristics, he does remind me of the Brazilian Ganso in some respects. Ganso was an extraordinary talent whose career was hindered partly due to his lack of pace.
However, there are aspects of Miretti's game that can and will improve. Compared to last year, he is thinking and reacting much faster. He got used to the pace in the top flight. He is likely to continue improving in the future, further enhancing his strengths. Yet, his lack of pace will be a critical hindrance and it's leading me to predict that his career will not reflect his talent.
The lack of pace and dynamism is really hindering the likes of De Bruyne, Odegaard, Bernardo and Brandt.

Even so, I'm not ready to write him off at a young age because of that. Soule is looking really good this season, but prior he seemed nothing special as well. Dragusin is on his way to Tottenham now at 21. Lets just see how he develops.

Milik's goals against Frosinone? One was a penalty which was won by Miretti, but that doesn't count as assist, does it? The other two goals by Milik were assisted by McKennie and Locatelli.
Then no clue. I was guessing. I try to forget Miretti moments.

He got credit for an assist.

Was disappointed a couple of times in the second half he could have played a through ball to Vlahovic. I'm not sure whether the didn't spot him or didn't want to attempt the passes but they were fairly routine for an attacking centre mid.

He really doesn't look comfortable at this level, regularly losing the ball, not hitting some obvious through balls etc. The likes of Palladino and Estigarribia also provided the occasional goal or assist.
