Watched the game again, and miretti was even better on a second viewing. I agree that it was his best performance, not only this season but in his Juve career. Still think he should be loaned out, but it’s not like there isn’t space for him in this midfield either lol

No reason to lose to hope on him, he is talented, just very young so he is inconsistent. In the coppa he was good.

As a collective, having more technical player (like Miretti) is imo part of why we looked so exciting.

He looks like he’s starting to figure it out, and now he’s gonna lose playing time cuz of Samardzic lol. Not complaining, but gotta feel a little bad for him.

He remains very unpolished, but the his runs and the way he naturally finds space is probably better than all of our other midfielders. He’s finally maturing on the pitch.

I think that here we can see the difference of staying at the club with some minutes vs the continuous loans as with Ranocchia where it really benefits the progression of Miretti and stagnated the progression of Ranocchia.

He can do lots of things on the pitch. CMs like this are rare and you can't discard them.

He can run, he can actually look up as he dribbles. He can play one touch. He gets in excellent positions without the ball. He can hit forward passes. He can dribble in tight spots.

Yes physically he's a bit weak and his shot is a bit weak.

The rest is a rare profile.

So many totally wrote him off at the age of 19.

I'm afraid the era of slow, talented players ended a while ago. In modern football, a lack of pace and dynamism is often a significant drawback. While Miretti doesn't exactly mirror him in characteristics, he does remind me of the Brazilian Ganso in some respects. Ganso was an extraordinary talent whose career was hindered partly due to his lack of pace.
However, there are aspects of Miretti's game that can and will improve. Compared to last year, he is thinking and reacting much faster. He got used to the pace in the top flight. He is likely to continue improving in the future, further enhancing his strengths. Yet, his lack of pace will be a critical hindrance and it's leading me to predict that his career will not reflect his talent.

He's surprisingly not as slow as he looks. On the Serie A website you can see the top speed players hit and average during a game. He's not fast and I agree in that role you want more explosiveness but his numbers aren't as bad as I expected. Plus there is still time for him to work on his acceleration.

I grew up with a couple of guys who looked like they were running in quicksand but were actually pretty quick. He might be a bit like that.

Did Ganso not get a bad knee injury?

Maybe. He does look like he's running in slow motion. There was this situation at the end of the match against Frosinone some days ago, where it was sad to watch him run and try to reach a long ball.

He's played very well lately and has made an impact, but his impact overall this season has been minimal. I'm not giving up on him, but I dont know how the club could keep him for another year and have him ride the bench rather than loan him out and have him play regularly.

We got a great relationship going with Frosinone right now. Sending him there for a year would be great for all parties.

Ideally, next season we have Locatelli, McKennie, Rabiot, Fagioli, and a new signing to be our main midfielders.

Hopefully management has a plan for what to do with guys like Miretti, Nicolussi, and Nonge. I could easily see Miretti loaned, Nicolussi sold, and Nonge kept as the 6th midfielder with a full year of training with the 1st team and some Next Gen matches (like we saw with Yildiz and Huijsen in the 1st half of the season)
