True, but your previous post insinuated that you think this will benefit Ireland having Cannavaro suspended, when the standings are pretty much finalized now regardless of the Ireland-Italy result.

I like Cyprus but if Italy do not win that game there is something seriously wrong.

Yes but Cannavaro missing the match in Dublin is good news for us regardless of the situation in the group. In theory we could either be fighting for first place with Italy (unlikely) or for second place with Bulgaria. It can't hurt, basically.

Yes Italy without Cannavaro is much weaker defensively. Sure there's still Buffon and Chiellini but Canna has been world class this season

Who would think that at his 36 years, Cannavaro would be giving this kind of performances....

He wants to pull a maldini and play until 40´s?

Don't be surprised if he keeps on going like this. Although I will bet that he will retire after the 2010 WC. At least definitely internationally. Donno if he will stay with Juve by then, too early to tell.

There's a chance, even though he has either equaled or surpassed Maldini in all aspects, he has never won the Champions league. If we win the CL this season, he may hang up his boots for good after the WC.

Happy Birthday Canna !!!

Canna will go in the history books as one of the best of his generation and candidate for all time defenders in Italy. But Maldini is another matter, he will go down as quite possibly huge candidate for the best italian player ever (and best defensive player ever right after likes of Beckenbauer).

But yeah I know what you mean, CL would mean alot for Canna's credentials, but slow down the Maldini stuff :D I know he has few hatahs around here, but give credit where credit is due. He simply defines legend.
