IF Ariaudo is still around. As for Chiellini, he would rather be more worried to cover up, for those fast players Canna cant reach...

If we need someone to train our defenders, there specialized men for that job!
Meaning the coach and his assistants. I dont disrespect Canna's experience, but some players are just marvelous by nature, they cannnot explain to others how they perform those miracles.
The only way Canna would teach our younger defenders, would be to teach and lead them by example! But at the age of 36, even this way will have limited effectiveness...
Legro is at least two times slower than him (try to recall how many times opposition players have ran away from him this season, you don't have that short memory) and constantly plays with his hands in penalty box. Mellberg is decent in a good defence (in the start of the season with Chiellini and Grygera, who were excellent in autumn or at RB with Legro on pitch), but when things are starting to get ugly, he is no saviour and is really poor when defending 1v1 against forward. We can't allow to spend big at CB, actually i think that only way we could get money for cb (which is 3rd or 4th priority right now) would be selling one of our champions for big money and settling for young replacement. Is that what you want? Or there are better free defenders out there?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if Cannavaro does indeed end up playing for us, we'll be pleasantly surprised by his performances. A second renaissance?
it is very possible, he was worse than this at Inter when we signed him first time

Again, you're missing the point. Disregard the rest of the defense and take Cannavaro's one vs. one challanges. That's all one needs to do.
so....even if teh whole defense and midfield plays piss-poor,never get near their men and generally look like complete fools.....none of this matters as it is all down to cannavaro?

You can't be serious. Ramos just had a bad match.
oh............there was me thinking that by flagging up one performance in one match you were able to determine just how fucking incompetent a player is and use that as proof that your point is valid

I have mixed feelings, I watched Madrid - Barcelona and he was beyond terrible there, too slow to catch any of the graceful Barca players. I really think Juve should invest some money in a solid central defender, yet again they have to strengthen almost all areas and I doubt there are enough resources to cover all them up.
On the other hand, as some posters mentioned above, even at age of 50 Canna will be better than Mellberg and Legro, so go figure....

No to canna. He left us some years ago and bringing him back would be an insult to buffon and treza and del and camo...

He went to Real to earn millions and now that he can't play in such high level he wants to come back. Does he think that we are Chievo Verona or Brescia??? Or even worse, do Ranieri and Secco believe it???

No to traitors and no to ex-good players...

Cannavaro apparently was in Turin today for the second medical test according to Corriere Dello Sport.

Moan and whine as much as you want,he will definitely come back.I'm sure he has another good Serie A season in him.

Why not??? Why our defense isnt our first priority???
For the last 3 seasons this has been our greatest weakness and we never really
tried to improve them and make the proper investments there!
When is the time to make them a priority??
Every year we keep buying a new expensive forward and more DMs,
why not defenders??
If we dont buy have the available money, then we wasted it on Poulsen???
We are we going to waste it on Cassano?? We can we always find more money to buy Iaquintas and Amauris and never find any money to buy defenders??

Im not defending boards decisions in the past, but it would be madness to stay with one left winger in Giovinco who actually isnt lw. Also, it would be madness not trying to do something about our CM's, who extremely underperfomed this season, our possesion game has been poor as hell. And, afterall, we need shirt's to sell and players, at whom everyone would come to watch. Investing all our money in Ricky Carvalho and Arne Friedrich for example may look good in theory, but it's madness if they are our only signings, and they would be.

And Cassano ain't Eto'o, he is more of a Iniesta. I don't think investing in him would be as dumb as buying fourth forward or fifth dm as there aren't players in our team like him, but it wouldn't be smart either in our situation to gamble with big part of our budget.
