It would only be a short-term solution though, as you would have to play him on the left, or switch Zebina to get rid of Molinaro.

Or would you start Salgado in the center next to Cannavaro?
You could put him in the centre. You could get Agricola and the boys to give him the daily 10 mg tomato sauce treatment if necessary. In two months time, he'd be adept at playing centre-back. And it's cent-RE Burke. We don't speak Amerikan in these forums.

Yeah, he's younger. They could put off signing another centre-back for another couple of years then.

Umm, guys? Ranieri would probably use Salgado over Grygera until we sign a younger RB in a couple summers.

Stupid Cannavaro would be in the center with Giorgio.

Salgado doesn't need any Italian blood. He's already a better defender anyway. See?
Well he is much more familiar with the Italian system of defending and working as a team. Also the midfielders do alot more protecting of the defence for Italy than they do at Real Madrid. In Spain it seems the defenders depend more on their ability in 1 on 1 to stop attackers while in Italy and for the National team they work much more as a unit together with the defensive mids to close down attacks.

A Player like Pujol who grew up in the spainsh system is far more adept to this kind of defending. But Canna excels in the Italian system.
So basically, Italian defenders are weaker than Spanish defenders because they have to rely on others to get the job done.

Nice one.
The point he made was clear and correct: Italian teams work more as a defensive unit. Canna excels in that system.
It doesn't have as much truth to it as people make it seem.

And in actuality it makes all Italian defenders seem weaker because they can't hold their own defensively in La Liga.

When Cannavaro was actually a good player, he made some of the best tackles I have ever seen for a defender, tackles that were his own and nobody else's. He could certainly hold his own by himself even as the last man, both on the ground and in the air, which made him great.

But hey, if you guys want to insult your own favorite players, so be it. I certainly want nothing to do with him.

Sorry, I'll see if I can fit it into my SHHHHHHHHHHHHHedule.

That's just dumb.

Legro as Chiellini's backup.

Here is the breakdown.

Salgado - Cannavaro - Chiellini - Molinaro

Zebina - Mellberg - Legro - De Ceglie

Out: Grygera, Knezevic.

Criscito may not be able to come back due to how the deal with Genoa might have a co-own clause.

The Cannavaro/+Salgado acquisition(s) would be one step forward, but signing Amoruso? I don't know...I think that'd be two steps back.
