I fail to see how youth products develop by warming the bench & watching a declining legend ply his trade. They get forced down the pecking order with Mellberg & Kne-whatever ahead of them.At the end of the day if players dont get a chance to prove their worth, whats the point of having a youth academy.
Its easy IF Canna is not playing every game. You forgot to mention in your tangent what the youngsters will learn not just watching, but what they will be learning from practice EVERY SINGLE DAY. What is the point of practice Byrone? To get better, work on areas of weakness...etc. What better teacher than to teach our young defenders other than Canna. Look at the big picture here, he obviously won't be playing every single game and if he is somehow back to his best then yes, I would hope he plays regularly.

To be a young defender there is a lot you need to learn before being thrown in the deep end because a simple mistake can lead to a game winning goal for the opposition. Even Chiellini our best defender makes blunders. Besides, our young defenders will be a year older with more experience and more practice, its not like they stay stagnate all year long...

Its convenient revisionistic BS to say he went to Real to spare the Juve fans feelings. No difference between him and Zlatan, he went to Real because they are a top team, they wanted him, and we wanted to sell him there, not much else options, same with Zlatan. Canna would have gone to Milan if they were the ones going for him and offering the most.

Really? How might you know something like that? He could have easily went anymore during that time. Real were a top class team and he wanted to prolong his International Career and play at the top level as long as he could, what is so bad about that? I didn't once say it was to spare Juve fans feelings. I said he probably wanted to spare the club from strengthening one of its major rivals. I no way compared him to Ibra and there is a difference by the way.

I see no way of a Hamsik deal happening. How? The definitely do not want to get rid of him.
I think it's just a matter of time for him to leave.

I'll still go with Diego. Scores more, not scared of running back, can dribble, pass and cross well...
Actually I think Cassano (Sampdoria one) runs back more often than Diego.Maybe a better dribbler but Cassano got a better technique.

I'm pretty sure we'd get more with Cassano but it's a risky deal (just because of his idiotic brain).Diego can go off-form while Cassano can just go crazy (or he's a new player since he didn't make any trouble ; still, it could be because he's always playing). He made Pazzini look like Drogba...I'd really like to see him behind Amauri.

If Secco can get Cassano before Diego,im pretty sure he'll go ahead with it.Although i must admit that looks damn potent.
We might have a competition for Diego.I'm pretty sure at least 2 clubs are already around him (Real/Inter and co.) so we might be forced to go after Antonio. In the end if we get him and if he stays normal we could be in a big adventage and that could be one of the best transfers in Europe.

And after 2 seasons with Gio playing at his best and Cassano imagine

    ...back on the topic anyway...

Canna agent: I'm talking to Juve

The agent of Azzurri skipper Fabio Cannavaro has confirmed that he is in negotiations with Juventus.

Cannavaro left Juve in the summer of 2006 after the Calciopoli scandal and signed for Real Madrid.

With his contract set to expire shortly, Canna has been linked to several Italian sides, but it seems he wants to rejoin the Old Lady.

After the end of January I was able to start listening to offers for Fabio,” Enrico Fedele told Radio Kiss Kiss.

But I have to stress that until a month ago no offers had arrived from Italy and the most concrete approaches were from England, France and Russia.

“Then, a month ago, Juventus asked if Fabio was still available and we began discussions after I had spoken to the player.

“Juve behaved totally correctly and approached Real Madrid first. Fabio would be very, very happy to return to the Bianconeri and would take a sizeable pay cut.

“I don't know whether Marcello Lippi encouraged Juve to make this move, I just know that we could sign a multi-year deal.

“There is still a lot to discuss, but Real have received a fax from Juventus. I think that the Turin club have a big project that demands immediate investment and they have the chance to sign an idol for free
    .”

Hehe, hardly ever dribbles??? No idea what gave you that impression.

Cassano is a better, more imaginative and unstoppable dribbler then Diego. Diego is very good in dribbling, he is more of the shield the ball kinda dribbler, great technique, but pure dribbling, Cassano is for sure better IMO. One of the few players that can take on 4-5 players and actually succeed. You need to watch Samp games more, he is defenitely WAY better playmaker and ingenious creator now then he ever was before, but his dribbling didnt take a back seat to it at all. Here if you want to see footage of him in Samp:

Every time I watched him in Samp he played like Pirlo/Zidane but I didn't see too many dribblings, I have seen him play that role and he is amazing, though. :)

thanks for that link, Os.

Well, if we fail to sign Diego I won't mind seeing us end up with Cassano at all.

and I'm still behind my words, that he'd be one of the best transfers in Europe but let's not talk about it here.
