No sane person after watching that match would want cannavaro back. But then again this is secco were talking about...

Besdies we weren't doing that bad defensively until mo mo got injured. It was from then were our defense collapsed.

Signing cannavaro will delight the english press with the "serie a being a retirement league" thing.

Cannavaro is world class. Can't wait to see him in zebra clothes.
No doubt, here are my reasons why we should sign Cannavaro.

1- He has over 120+ Caps with the Azzurri team (like that dude said the other day) :lol2:

2- He's Free

3- He can organize our defense and also teach our youngsters WHILE playing how to defend

4- Not any defender can get owned by ANOTHER defender (Pique) therefore I consider this as an achievement.

5- He left the team during Calciopoli and now that we are back he wants to be back.

6- He left not because he wanted to win the CL somewhere else, but because the evil Secco and co asked him to. They forced him to make statements saying he left to win the CL with another team.

7- Because Napoli proved they're smarter than us, therefore we should prove them wrong and sigN a defender hitting his 40's.

8- Because it's good to laugh at Milan defenders but it's even better to sign someone who couldn't keep up his feet with Pique, Keita, Xavi etc.

SIGN him, NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

As bad as he was i doubt any defender in the world would have made difference tonight.
Ramos was raped by Henry, Metzelder will have nightmares about Messi, Heinze was owned even by Bojan Krkic, Gago let everyone pass him by, even Diarra was owned all match long. Cannavaro was just as bad. Not better nor worse than the other defenders.

Sorry, but that's a very poor excuse Alen.

Chelsea played Barcelona missing their main defender playing away to Barcelona and didn't concede a goal.

I can give many more excuses. Most of us also doubted Chelsea defenders to stop the Barcelona's trio before the match but they managed.

We can't be serious about bringing this guy back to Juve. He's worse than Legro.
The thing is, Legro/Mellberg/Chiellini were decent when playing big teams, top players.... from Ronaldinho/Pato/Ibrahimovic/Vucinic/Milito etc..... Cannavaro has failed to deliver each time he faced a top player.... From Eto'o, Del Piero to Adebayor and the list goes on.

I forced myself during the game to see what good things he can offer us... I really forced myself to find something, but couldn;t.

Absolutely correct.

But of course people don't agree because they even admit they have no idea what they're talking about.

No, i was talking about a defender directly replacing Cannavaro. I doubt there would have been some difference.
Maybe 5:2 or even 4:2 instead of 6:2, but Barcelona were still going to score a lot, because Real's defensive problems are huge, much bigger than just replacing Cannavaro with another defender.

Not true. This is not how one should analyze things in Football.

You can't say they were going to score this much or maybe a bit less had someone like Vidic for example or terry replaced Cannavaro. You can be right, but still you can't state it like a fact and be sure of it.

Inter can be playing bad but Ibrahimovic makes their difference for example. Chelsea can be individually in a terrible form but Terry can make a difference in the back. etc

Seriously not true whatsoever. Canavarro made the foul for the first goal, was out of position on two other goals, and missed a lot of tackles/interventions he once could make.

Are you guys forgetting how awful cannavaro was against Juve and Roma ?

The guys past it and a traitor, not to mention 35. It makes no sense to sign him. Theres no such thing as a free player, because you'll be still paying him wages.
Besides lego wasnt that bad, we just need a new right back and sissoko fit. I would rather have new spark in midfield. Obviously were not going to use giovinco so lets not kid ourselves here. And are we trying to be the new Milan here or something with these ancient players ? Is del piero going to remain as our main threat until he's 40 ?

Listen, i also don't like the idea of bringing Cannavaro to Juve but you two are exaggerating his influence in tonight's defeat. Real were owned left, right and center all over the pitch. Even superman wouldn't have stopped Barcelona from scoring a lot. Real's problems started in midfield where Diarra and especially Gago lost everything. They were owned on the flanks and Metzelder/Canna were left on many occasions alone against 3 or 4 technically superb Barca players.

I can't prove it for sure, but i'm convinced that even if the great Baresi played instead of Cannavaro tonight, Real would have conceded at least 4. For the last two goals Real played with 3 defenders. Before that Ramos was 100% guilty when he miss timed the offside trap for Henry's second goal, Puyol scored after a foul by Canna, but the whole Real team was guilty for letting Puyol free to shoot. Ramos was guilty for the other goal scored by Henry, as for Messi's goal, Diarra gifted Barca the ball in a very dangerous position.

The whole Real team was awful. The humiliation was invetable.
