I'm just going to switch off BBC World for a minute and dream back to the 1990s when we still had hope for peace after the collapse of communism (am I the only one who misses it?). I just found a cd with the backstreet boys, janet jackson, touch and go, another level, the spice girls, 2 unlimited, five, alanis morisette, madonna, TLC and some other super cheesy stuff as well as a photo album with highschool pictures

Half of that isn't even true. I would not support my country in absolutely obliterating several countries in Africa, or take hostages simply to kill them without knowing for sure they are actual terrorists. But the thing is, whenever something you do affects millions of people, not everybody will benefit and there will always be people who are upset with you. It is impossible to please everybody, however in each campaign we have conducted we have always helped out at least one group of people. Even though Iraq was still not a good choice overall, we still were able to get rid of Saddam and at least try to set up a new life for people of Iraq. However it is very difficult to do that when suicide bombers blow shit up everyday thinking this is a war against Islam. It's not. They know it's a war against terrorism, and that is one they just adore to fight.
Ohh boohoo, we supported Israel. In reality it's their "promised land" anyway. I'm sick of hearing that excuse for terror.
And no, there would still be terrorism today. Terrorists would focus on other targets or whoever else would hold the key to power.

The most misleading event I can think of for my country was obviously the War on Iraq in which we supposedly thought Saddam had WMD's. Now if that was an intelligence mistake or information only put out there to mislead us, I don't know. As for laws that harm me, I'm not sure if I can think of any here in the US. And I do want to say how lucky and privledged I am to live in this country..
