^^ it hasn't even been 24 hours since the game, Steph...I'm sure some shit will go down vs. Henry...it should anyway
They will fine him 10 000 euros or smth. I am pretty sure about that. (they cant afford to ban him, + Platini will sleep with Blatter or smth.

But he deserves a ban. FIFA must act. What kind of message does it show us if Henry gets away without a ban, like i said, players have gotten punished for off the ball incidents, what havent had influence on the result. This was huge though, hadnt Henry used his hand, the ball would have gone out of play.

Look I don't want a replay, I want Henry banned from the World Cup so he feels terrible about himself, is that Soooo much to ask?
I totally agree (although you being Irish, its probably even worse). What happened, happened, besides if France only play reply, well they will probably play better, since Ireland gave their all and will most likely not win the game. Henry is the one who needs to be punished. It doesnt matter if ref saw or didnt. Its not the first time video replay evidence has given out punishment (Totti euro 04, here there i hear them giving out bans for diving). What Henry did had such a influence, if he hadnt used his arm, the ball would have gone out. Who knows what had happened.

So the message is: FIFA tolerates handball? Yet they promote fair play message.

Doesnt seem right. Was Henry action fair?

The only 3 words I could come up with when I watched it live were "utter fucking bullshit"

Ireland got the royal screw here, and as much as I am not a fan of Trap, I do feel bad for him, as well as the Ireland players and fans

First they invent a seeding system right before the playoffs, and now this......

The game SHOULD be replayed, the play in question is clear for everyone, (including Stevie Wonder) to see, and Henry should get a long ban for the intentional handling

As far as the game went, I kept thinking after Ireland scored the away goal "one more goal and the frogs are history !!" I thought Ireland was going to get the second goal....matter of fact they should have. Too many close chances that they couldnt put away......

Ireland was the better team yesterday, and I hope the frogs crash out in the group stage......unless of course a replay is ordered (which I have serious doubts about)

  • I am a referee,
  • FiFa wants me to referee a match,
  • My Boss Platini want's me to go easy on France because it'd put pressure on him were FIFA to lose the considerable TV revenue of France.
  • I want to keep being a referee.

Yeah that's utterly insane!
I see. So we're blaming Martin for this outcome. :p

[*] I will make a huge mistake that will probably get me suspended for a long long time and i'll never ever be awarded a big game in my life.

So lets say Henry didn't handle the ball and it went out. Do you think that the ref would have done something in the next 15 minutes to make sure the match won't go to penalties?
Why did the ref let the match go to overtime at all? All it needed to be done was a France attacker to fall in the box, anytime during the 90 minutes, and a penalty would have been awarded if the ref had orders to make sure France goes to the WC. But this ref let the match go to overtime and took the risk of Ireland scoring a second goal, which would have meant a certain elimination for France.

Imo, none of the referees saw the handball. Only a France player who saw the handball, Henry or someone else, admitting that there was a handball, could have led to disallowing the goal. The French players weren't crazy to admit the handball and this is where it ends.

Now the referee will get some suspension and can only dream about refereeing big matches, while Henry might get some ban too.
