I agree. That's why i'd call Henry a cheater and admit that in his place, i'd have done exactly the same thing.

I don't even blame Henry for doing it, because I know that with a WC at stake, most of the players, at least the more intelligent ones, with good reflexes, would have done the same.

But i still feel awful for the team that missed out on something as big as the WC due to his cheating. I feel really awful.
As i said to a friend, I went through 3 lost CL finals with Juve, a semifinal defeat at the world cup with Croatia, a 120 minute goal from Turkey in 2008...but i can't even imagine how the Irish feel because Juve and Croatia lost fair and square, while this one was different.

Did you people even read my posts? I explicitly stated that it was fair to call Henry a cheat, i said that Ireland were robbed, i said that France did not deserve to go through. I never justified what Henry did, nor do i think it is justifiable. Ireland were hard done by.

Now that we got that done with, i am asking a simple question that most of you are avoiding. If a Juve player did the same thing, would you be so quick to label him a cheat? He might have cheated at that moment (which again is unjustifiable) but does that mean he is a cheat?

Be sure that i will be here to call you guys out. I will be waiting for any incident that involves a Juve, Italy or US player cheating, and if i don't see you guys calling the x player a cheat, i will call you out for hypocrisy.

Oh and it doesn't matter if its a weekly league game or if its a game thats as important as todays one, cheating is cheating.

Good luck in it happening in a knockout game, especially the magnitude of this one.

Not as far as I know. He played about 5 times for Ireland but he decided to just concentrate on club football. He's only about 21.

Lets define cheating with examples, so we'll know when you'll have the right to call Ahmed a hypocrite.

France will be there and Ireland wont, cant do anything about that, but Henry deserves a punishment.

No diving is not part of the game. A player gets yellow carded if he is caught deliberately trying to deceive the ref by diving.

there's a grey area involved in diving, the refs do not apply that ruling all the time...how many thousands of time has there been an incident when the referee didn't give a PK or a yellow to the diver.

Henry should be suspended, if not to punish at least to deter players from doing this in the future. If he goes unpunished or gets a suspension for a meaningless friendly than what deters players from trying the same in future matches? The punishment needs to be severe otherwise players will continue to willingly sacrifice themselves so suspension for an unimportant game if it gets their team to the WC. There should be punishment from FIFA at least as a warning that this behavior is not going to be ignored
