i thought you were reffering of this speciific game...imo dp did good (maybe great) in subbing him in the 2nd half, i didn't missed him.

@ nicholas...our Lord Jesus Christ had a saying when he was downtown with his Apostoles: "give Caesar what belongs to Caesar"
Why would you not miss Diego when your clearly fixated with Del Piero. We suck upfront without Diego thats a fact if you cant see than then its worrying. The whole flow in attack ends when Diego's subbed.

Tonight perhaps was an exception, for a technical player tonight he would suffer but in other pre seasons as Dule said we miss Diego when he gets subbed.

Bonucci was fantastic, Del Piero's goal was amazing, Lanza showed some nice skills toward the end but was meh for most of the match and Pepe was meh for the whole match. I'd like Marchisio or Sissoko to be a bit more adventurous in future.

I am a bit concerned about out overall performance on this game. Be it the rain or not, the rovers handled us well. They have a very good keeper as well.

Hopefully this would be just a game and would have no reflection on our play in Serie A.

i'll write it again..i said that we didn't missed diego in the 2nd half, oh and hell yes he did more than diego today :). In other matches yes, diego speeds and open our attack..he is the fresh brain from the midfield..that's why i would like him as a cm and dp + amauri/trez up front.

We definitely do.

The problem is that we lack a lot even when Diego is playing. There are at least 3-4 new good players needed in the starting XI.
We need a capable RW, and a reliable LB. Also maybe a player who can pass in the middle of the pitch in front of the defence. Then we are set. The first two should be top priority.

Obviously the pitch being better in the second half had a lot to do with it but we were clearly better in that half with Del Piero. Diego deserves to start but I'm not subscribing to this notion that we rely on him.

We need a RW just as much as we need a LW. We actually need quality on both those positions because we seriously lack quality on the wings when the main formation is 4-4-2. From Camo and Nedved we're down to Pepe, Lanzafame and Martinez.

But since we won't buy two class wingers, I'll be happy with only one for the time being, no matter on which side.

lanfazame had some balls today, i liked it...pepe is just..well..pepe (a lot of heart but doesn't have those skills you need on that position). Didn't saw martinez yet..

we had one of those in tiago, but we never utilised him properly.

& the other two we were after (Xabi & D'Ago) we never bothered to seal the deal.

Alen, what's your opinion about Krasic? do you rate him as a world class winger ?

Tiago cannot function in a 4-4-2. I'd be fine with Melo as long as he keeps his head in check. I'm not sure if I want to see Momo beside Marchisio every match.
