I hated it. I hated the typical Italian attitude that will certainly cost Italy a CL place. Every point means a lot, especially for us because we lost so many points for not playing in Europe for 2 years. Every point is precious for us, but for some reason, even at 0:0 in 90th minute, we play all defense and don't even think about scoring.
We played as much as we had to. Didn't spend more energy than required. We have an important match during the weekend and it will be our 4th game in about 10 days. It was important to conserve energy and for me thats job well done. A goal today was useless for us, especially because Ajax looked clueless...

Shite match of course. We were incredibly poor with the ball but Ajax was even worse. They never looked like scoring apart from that Emanuelson shot at the end. Nothing inspiring at all to write home about apart from advancing.

Melo is my man of the match because of his antics. Smiling and nodding his head to an Ajax player for about 30 seconds and fist-pumping after getting hit with the ball were by FAR the highlights of the match. Awesome player. :D

It's just silly to play with fire like that though. Sure we did enough to qualify but it's still a pathetic performance that won't get us past tougher sides.

:agree: Didn't felt save at all
We play Palermo on sunday that is a huge game. I for one was happy we did not go all gun hoe. We need stuff left in the tank against a team who has had a full weeks rest.

People are seriously complaining about us not going to win the game for 90 minutes? :D

First leg we score 2 out of 4 shots. Second leg we waste little energy and EASE through to the next round, hardly any shots without and worries or scares to Manninger. We also get a clean sheet. The only complaint could be about the possession in the second half which obviously needs work, but everyone was so deep.

With the amount of players we have injured we can't afford to be pushing our players in unnecessary times.

I liked his defensive approach in front of our defense. He covered up well for Sissoko in the first half as well.
I thought he was just running aimlessly. My MOM would be Chiellini. Marchisio did extremely well to help out Grygera in the first half to neutralise Sulejmani. Which brings to wonder why oh why does Grygera still play.

It's not like we didn't have Ajax around our box trying to create. They had some space to do so, both in possession and counter-attacks, so we didn't even shut them down that well. They were just so pathetically poor it seemed like a miracle was needed for them to actually grab a goal. The number of awkward passes and miscommunications around our area by them was pretty laughable.
