Playing Pirlo in Europe is suicide, but we all know that. Unfortunately Vidal was out though, but I'd bet Pirlo would have started anyway. We badly need his goals from FKs.

are you blind or something? he was in 1 metr from Lima, with his long stride he would have caught him easily, while Pirlo was watching on the ball, he wasn't able to turn his head, watch replay, fool, you definitely never played football in ur life
Just because you're closer to someone, doesn't mean they're your responsibility. Players are usually told to hold the defensive shape and Lima's run was pretty twisty. He went from the center to the right. If he had gone left, then yeah, Pogba should've been on him and he would've. But you can't have all your players crowding one area.

wow, you are too far away from football aspects  it's obvious Pogba's failure, he was dead at that moment of match, Conte forgot to use substitutions once again

Cool bro. In Russia wrong is right.
So if coach told you to mark Sulejmani for example and in some point of the match other non-marked opponent has started to run infront you and possibly his run could end with 1on1 meeting with your goalkeeper but yet you should stay and guard Sulejmani? You confuse European and American football i guess

I feel like I tried my best to explain my thoughts on the subject to you. I have nothing more to contribute to this conversation and I'm kinda proud of that.

Keep on keeping on, RUS.

An apathetic display in the first half, but we recovered well from going a goal behind very early, and generally controlled the tempo in the 2nd period. Defensive mistakes (sounds familiar eh?) cost us in Europe again!

We can turn this around @ home, as Benfica are hardly a menacing proposition, if their 2nd half performance is anything to go by.

Pirlo should only play 1 half in the return leg, and Vucinic and Osvaldo should start in the stands, or preferably be relegated to a deck chair somewhere outside the stadium. As for Bonucci............... :howler:

betting odds show us still we are favourite to reach final.

for the home game odds are around 1.65 and it is looking clear home win.

we forced the game get good chances at away game.benfica is not a good defense team.

i am sure we will over them dont worry and get troph in own stadium.

team is need to get european tittle for a long time we are waiting.

2nd goal - Pogba is sleeping, walking around, too busy to run and mark Lima, Bonucci is staying near Benfica's player which was already marked by Caceres and instead of run towards Lima and block him, he tried to move left and to block his shot :sergio:
Very true.

We are still favorites, but I don't think we'll face the same Benfica we did yesterday. Hopefully we'll recover both Vidal and Barzagli as they'll be recovering some of their regulars. We should have fucking closed the tie yesterday. 2-1 is not the end of the world and is considered positive normally due to the away goal, but not with how that game progressed yesterday.

I'm not sure what those arrows are supposed to represent, but to me it looks like Pirlo's the one mainly at fault. If those two pics are consecutive, it looks like all he did was take one step.
He was behind Benfica player but what was Bonucci doing. His usual idiot positioning and non covering a attacker?

Yes its not the end of the world. But was pathetic/shameful/criminal the way we play.Toothless minnows.I repeat toothless minnows. And why Conte sub Leonardo DiCaprio a.k.a Osvaldo and not Llorente? Why he ultra stubbornly play with Bonnuci as his first choice in defense even this guy makes zillion of errors? The thing is that we do not show Europe potential. No way.Maybe we can luckily win in Turin. But our display is awfull.

He was probably fouled somewhere along the lines, too. Like in the first goal.
Yeah he was fouled by air and by his brain.

With this result the major bad thing is that we are losing coef. points. On the other hand this loss will motivate us to be fully concentrated for a win in Turin. Both goals were avoidable and Marchisio should have scored his chance but that's football. Anyways we got a good away result. It should be much easier than the 1-1 draw with Fiorentina at home.

Also the prediction of the Benfica guy was totally wrong. He said that his team will attack us from the first until the last minute. And what I saw was that Benfica were trying to hit us on the counter.
