What is Emile Heskey doing in the English team :confused: ??

And why Parker wasn't chosen? What about Shaun Wright-Phillips, Johnson and Smith? They were all great this season.

Anyway, my 'England' team (from Sven's selected squad) would be:

============= James ============

=========== Terry === Campbell ========

== Neville ==================== Cole ===

============= Lampard ============

==== Beckham ============= Gerrard ===

============= Scholes ============

==== Rooney ============= Owen ===

Defoe deserves to be there imo, and maybe James Beattie and Alan Smith as well. Parker and Wright-Phillips also have good cases to argue.

I don't think Rooney's experienced enough to be in the starting lineup. I agree with Stu, maybe Smith or Beattie should be there instead. I wish Owen Hargreaves would force his way into the team, I love the guy :irritate:

Ledley King (Tottenham)

Phil Neville (Man United)
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
Nicky Butt (Man United)
David Beckham (Real Madrid)

    Sweden and Denmark are both good teams. Plays offensive football with much wingplay. And i am sure Zlatan (swe) and Tomasson (den) will be a threat. But one thing is for sure, they have to attack since Italy certainly will score maybe 2 or 3 goals against them.
    Anyhow im sure Italy control this matches superb.
    i live in denmark.. BUT I STILL HOPE ITALY beat them for like 5-0...

    Forza Italy!!

    And Wiltord is there :irritate:

    I've heard that Trap is expected to name his squad today, but does anybody know what time exactly? I'm getting really anxious... I have the feeling trap is gonna do something stupid, AGAIN.

    You needn't post the squads, dude. Erik is doing that in the first post of the thread, editing it each time a new preliminary squad is named.

    I agree though. It's sad that so many coaches in the world overlook young talent. Can someone tell me what Heskey can offer that Beattie, Smith and Defoe can't (besides physical)? BS.
