It's a 4-2-3-1 so Pogba doesn't really fit in as a CDM or CAM (not over Payet at least). Switching Matuidi for Pogba might've been a valid option but maybe Deschamps wanted more defensive solidity in that position. I expect both Pogba and Griezmann to come off the bench and fire things up.
What a moronic move. Media pressured Deschamp and he gave in. Weak.
I don't even think that Pogba was that bad vs Romania. He was played out of position in favor of inferior player in Matuidi and had a decent showing, creating couple of good openings for his teammates.

6 more games to go, if France are planning to go all the way, so using the squad is good. But if Deschamps goes for Matuidi and Giroud over Pogba and Griezmann in the knockouts against a big team then he's just being silly.
He's lost his mind. They'll beat Albania, with all due respect to Albanians, but he needs to find a way to get the best out of Payet, Pogba and Griezman, or else their chances for any decent result in this Euro will plummet. Fielding Giroud is laughable and worth of contempt.
I believe Deschamps just wants to show, who the boss is. He is this kind of manager. Pogba will come on in the second half and score. All will be forgotten.
