As for the northern and southern divide it's only socioeconomic. The northerners feel the London unfavourably keeps pumping money down south, better jobs, more employment, better facilities, transport etc. Being a northerner I'd agree.

Would anyone consider John Stones to be up there with the greatest CB's of all time?

I notice he never gets much credit but I rarely see him making any major mistakes. Potentially, he would be a 6 times EPL winner, CL winner and (potentially) an European champion winning basically every trophy there is. He's only 30 and probably has a couple of years left in him.

This sounds like hope more than anything. Many of the key players in this team are under 24 years old.

Yeah that's nonsense. Of their top key players only Kane is on the older side lol at 30, all of their other top players are between 20 to 24 lol

Foden and Declan Rice 24, Saka and Palmer 22, Bellingham 20.



P.S John Stones is 30, but see him as replaceable level player not a key top one.

But for a national team that hasn't won anything since 1966 they have a massive pressure on their shoulders, losing tonight will just add to that pressure in the coming years.

He is a really good complimentary player, but not really a top key one. His role can be taken by most real quality role players, not an indispensable part of the team. He is solid and wide range in terms of defending and controlling passing game.


But he is a cog, not a key, both for England and especially Man City that he has most of his success with. Until recently he couldn't get starting role there, so not sure where the best CB of all time candidate credentials emerged from.
