Not sure about Portugal @swag ?
Portugal has gotta be at least 98% in favor of Spain in this one, easy.

We have good relations with our Iberian brothers. There's a bit of a sibling rivalry of course. But unlike an Inter/Milan tranny derby when we play each other, we defend the old Umayyad caliphate together.

And the 1386 Treaty of Windsor never got updated for football rivalries.

Some these Scouse get it. :hi:
There's nothing more a scouser likes to do than remind you how special and different they are. Interesting identity dynamic they have up there. But of course it's not the only area of England, particularly northern England, that has a history of mass immigration and socioeconomic resentment.

It's two separate dynamics going on, some of the scousers believe in the following

As for the northern and southern divide it's only socioeconomic. The northerners feel the London unfavourably keeps pumping money down south, better jobs, more employment, better facilities, transport etc. Being a northerner I'd agree.

The misty-eyed romanticism doesn't work because the idea that England has dictated to Liverpudlians is false, Liverpool is just one of many cities across the country ran, dictated to and often overlooked by London. Many feel the same in the Midlands. London is and isn't England. England isn't the Tory party. England isn't King and Empire (the latter being the reason the city is even prominent today). It's not Cornwall or Cumbria or Northumbria - for me, regions with far greater reason to promote an insular and isolationist mentality. I get the historical reasons for the anti-establishment and socialist mindset but saying you're not part of England doesn't seem accurate to me. And I'd imagine it's still very much a minority who genuinely feel anti-English, it's an extension of local pride firstly, and makes these people feel extra special.

Look at this clickbait rubbish and then read the mixed comments; https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/many-scousers-wont-support-england-29392703?

Odd how it appears to be more of a Victimpool FC thing than it is with Evertonians as well. Maybe they just aren't red enough to get it.

How is New York not part of America?

How is New York not part of America?
Its a justification based on the balanced cultural and ethnic diversity that New York has compared to it's other peers. While I don't quite get these minority scousers justification I do respect their decision, and actually find it funny. Even more so as I want the boys coming home without a trophy.

They want to be the Neaples/Napoli of England so bad (circa 1990 when they rooted for argentina over italy).

They just need to heap trash everywhere in their streets and transition will be smooth.
