They'll win something eventually. Usually, they overrate their team but this time they do have a great team on paper. The team back in 2006 was up against other great teams, but this time, they probably do have the best team on paper.

Sure Southgate’s tactics this tournament so far have been atrocious. Having said that, he has taken England closer to major trophies than anyone in ages. It’s entirely possible that he will get it right or get lucky his way again

That's because England have their best squad(s) for many years, since 2002. It's not because Southgate is a great coach. His style of coaching is hands off, which is fine, but you can argue he should have won something by now.
