Italy should switch things up

Cambiaso Bastoni Calafiori Di Marco

Pellegrini Barella Fagioli

Zaccagni Retegui Chiesa

Try something different.
I think Frattesi instead of Fagioli. He could come in as a sub for Pellegrini, until he proves that he should start over him.

Berardi and Tonali would make a world of difference, it's just a thin squad.

italy need another player who is comfortable playing wide.

i'd bench di lorenzo for darmian/cambiaso

and play el shrawaay from start. scamacca is fine up front you need a big targetman. but having two attacking players to support him out wide and allow fullbacks to pull up will help.

And not nearly as talented on paper though Donna proving he's the real deal. Getting lots of money but wonder later in life he regrets not making his legacy in Italy. His agent definitely won't. Only two years left on PSG deal and still very young. Juve, Inter and AC together probably couldn't afford him.
I somehow doubt it, Spalletti is not that type of coach.
It is such a disjointed team
Amazing how much of a difference just 2-3 years makes. From European champions to a team that couldn't even qualify for the World Cup. And now, we were fortunate not to have been hammered 3 or 4-0. I admit that I make fun of Bonbon all the time, but him and Chellini along with Spinizola really held the fort at the last tournament.
Plus, we had the pre-injury Chiesa, a younger Jorginho and an in-form Locatelli.

I think we were seriously in for him but Allegri put a stop to it stating that Tek was good enough.

Funny how there are england fans who are demanding that southgate gets sacked now because the ivory coast did it in the last afcon and ended up winning it

I think his salary demands were ultimately too much.
Possibly, it would have depended on us selling Tek at the time which didn't seem to be a priority.

I dont ever remember any tournament where Italy have ever been considered as one of the strong favourites (except maybe euro 2000?) But when you look at when Italy won the Euros and the WC there was always story and purpose that galvanised the team, last time it was Vialli's declining health, and I think it was a balanced team, nothing overly amazing, but they played with real heart, same in 2006. I just dont see a team under spalletti at the moment, just some decent individuals mashed together with some very average and shit players
