I'd say this Italy team is beter than Italy2006. The latter one had bigger stars, more wordclass players but somehow they did not convince. I remember embarrasement game against Australia.
No doubt. I would go as far as to say this Italy side is better than the France side that won the World Cup too, and also Germany in 2014. They're no doubt going to win this thing 100% based on this group display. :delpiero:

Neville says Wales will be Italy's first test potentially... a meaningless game for Italy against the team that the Swiss absolutely bullied for 75 minutes. Great analysis.
What's funny about it all though is deluded English or premfag fans out there believing it word for word lol sadly I have some in my family. They actually believe people like Keane and Neville are great pundits.

Thing is I expected it from Neville, maybe less so from Keane but didn't expect Viera to join in.

Nope that's not the point i was going to make. Im talking about the performance more than results. Italy might even CHOKE like Netherland always does. But it's a different Italy and I love it.

Well you said it. The only way Italy doesn't win this thing is if they choke. But regardless, they're still easily the best team in this thing.

That's the only worry. Players like Immobile, Insigne, Berrardi, having the choking mentality which in later stages could be the issue with Italy.

For those watching the game on ITV tonight lol, Roy Keane, viera and nevile all unmoved and berating italys performance in this tournament so far. They've got more to say about how easy and poor Swiss are than how impressive Italy were. Granted the Swiss gave up early but loving the sour grapes lol.

Got to say really impressed with locatelli gonna difficult getting him after this tournament.
Trust me if England were in Italys position right now they'd have an open top bus parade, MBE's awarded to the entire squad and everyone would be banging on how its coming home. Such a bunch of hypocrites. What's funnier is how Vieira and neville are 2 failed coaches chatting utter shit. Someone remind neville how he was part of hodgsons staff when Iceland knocked England out.

vieira is probably still butthurt since 2006. his comments were ridiculous. swiss weren't impressive, but you can't play your own game when italian midfielders press back every single time when they lose the ball. do italy lack pace too? watch the first goal: locatelli started the attack with an instant long ball (with his weaker foot - and he scored a long range goal with the same foot too lol), then sprinted right towards the goal without hesitation. italy is the polar opposite of a team vieira described.

Hey, no Amauri = 100% Italien BLOOD

They're playing as a team, which is ideal. And they're playing really well as a unit. But it's way too early to peak in this tournament.

They've managed an amazing, and actually unsustainable, track record defensively for many matches. A real test would be to see how they handle coming from behind, because it will happen in the later rounds.

I lost respect for Viera after 2006
I dont know what he has done or what he is currently doing but I do know his tweet about Italy is similar to my thoughts.
I see Italy as the type of team that will advance but when Italy meet France you`ll see Italy`s weakness.
Its easy to dictate play against teams that arent really on your level..

Mancini deserves the credit for what he has instilled in this team. You could see that they put so much effort and hustle into the 1st half satisfied 1-0 up, stalling the last couple minutes trying to catch their breath.

Like Swag says haven't seen them down yet especially with what would be an important knockout match forthcoming. If it happens will the what most think is the weak link, the forwards/strikers, be able to come through? Yes Ciro scored but believe would need to play better against better competition. Insigne did good work but never a chance to score.
