It's collective delusion and they still reply with the same things.

"Most are mediocre"

Euro champions as the clear best team of the tournament.

13 goals scored and only 4 conceded.

34 matches unbeaten, the record for Italy and iirc tied for most in the world.

Yet still the narrative of average players.
Get this, Italy was great, beyond amazing this tournament. So no need to be angry or hurt.

Just don't tell me Immobile, belotti, insigne, berardi, di lorenzo or emerson are world class thats all.

It's a fair question. Yes, football is a team sport... look at Denmark. But at the beginning of the tournament to as well as now, I look at the Italy squad top to bottom and think, "Seriously? You expect me to believe this is the best Italian side in a Euro in 53 years?"

Yes, competition differs and the years differ. But Italy 2021 is a completely overachieving side, IMO. Especially compared to past Italy NTs. Or hell, even compared to France 2021.
But that's just the thing. Not all, but most games are won by the best team, not by the team that has the best individuals. France is an excellent example. They were a team 3 years ago. Not anymore, apparently.
I don't know if Italy overachieved. Perhaps, but then again they haven't lost a game in ages. That has to mean something.

I think they really did have an excellent squad. The one main & clear weakness being the attack, obviously.

England should definitely be sanctioned, and barred from holding any international tournaments any time soon, by UEFA after what went on yesterday. But Ceferin and Bojo being lovers means that won’t happen. England “saved” football. Yeah, we saw what they saved yesterday.

:scared: If that were at least the buttcheeks of some Sharons...
That whole thing needs a name though. It's like a human centipede of pasty asses and beer. An arse triffle. A British bum challah. Sir Southgate's Dumper Falls. Queen Elizabeth's Choad Pyramid.

And it needs to go in the Urban Dictionary.

Meanwhile in Scotland:

The dude dancing on crutches in the rain. :D

Can anyone explain how a bunch of "average" & "mediocre" Italians won this thing? I mean, reading the forum over the past few years has led me to believe there weren't any good Italian players out there. Definitely not good enough for Juve, at least.
And now this. I am confused
Because they are like family.

Given Saka took a pen, Sterling probably refused to take one. Fuck him.
Looks like Southgate just picked players and told them to take the kicks. It sure looked like it when they were showing the team during the break before the penalties and Grealish pretty much confirmed it today

Yep, Grealish looked like he was ready to take a pen. Even nodded iirc.

Such s stupid selection by Southgate. Wanting them to suffer like he did I guess.

That space is so vast that needs to be broken into many subspaces.

What was going on in his head? How can you ask a teenager to score 5th penalty in front of a full stadium, especially when you went through this yourself 25 years before?
