From this bracket, imo i think only Portugal can stop them from reaching the final(if they get through Poland that is). Portugal match up well against good teams that dominate possession. As much as i want Wales to make it, can't see it happening. I know they got 4 pts off them in qualification but this is a totally different ball-game. If you sit deep the entire game, you're bound to concede.

Belgium has a great shot at the final now.
Anything less is a failure. We'll face Bale and Ronaldo and these are obviously fantastic players, but we have the better team. And neither of them has been as good as Hazard this tournament.

But.. Portugal is one cynical team.

Free-kicks aside Bale hasn't been better than Hazard. His in game influence has been pretty poor actually.

Hazard was their best player against Italy. 2nd best against Ireland. Missed the Sweden game though .

True, but Bale has scored three and 'assisted' a fourth. He's very efficient.

Ah this is when you create a custom set of rules and include/exclude random parameters.

Altho Bale's freekicks are part of his player profile and he has been crucial with them they don't contribute to his performance. Gotcha

Sometimes the situation calls for cynical. But then you can't argue with results. Portugal's history vs. Croatia: four matches, four wins, no goals conceded.

Thats the thing with players like Bale. They play shit for the entire game and turn up with one moment of magic. Even Cristiano initially been woeful against Iceland and Austria until he turned up against Hungary and partly decided the game winning moment against Croatia.

Hazard in contrast hasn't been playing badly at all. He's had a good tournament tbh.

Their mindset makes a lot of sense. It's the only way they can go far these Euros. I don't blame them for it either. It's just that if we get past Wales, I hope we go at them all game long. Because if it's 0-0 at the 89th minute, you just know Ronaldo is going to kill us.
