In case Spain and Croatia play a 2:2 draw right? Or any draw?
That's with any draw.

Croatia has +2, let's say Spain wins 3-0 so they get +3 and Italy has 0.

If Italy wins 2-0 they tie with Croatia on h2h and goal difference but Croatia will advance on goals scored (4 now, 6 with 2-2 draw, Spain would have 6 too and Italy 4)

Got it. Thanks.

And what about all the free kicks Italy got in the final third of the pitch? All were close calls and all went Italy's way. From one of those Italy scored the goal.
And Srna butchered Motta with impunity. The ref did not favour Italy, that much is for sure. The set up with four teams and three games is really far from ideal IMO. Come the final game there are usually two teams who can decide to throw a third one out. I'm not saying that will happen, though it obviously did in 2004, but there are literally tens of games which were, at the very least, controversial. Perhaps they should change the setup.

I thought the same, but King Ale pointed out that there'll be a mini table between Croatia, Spain and Italy, in which case it doesn't matter how many Italy score vs Ireland if the match between Spain and Croatia end in a draw higher than 1-1.

Croatia won't play 2-2 against Spain. The Spanish are way too strong for the Croats and given the fact that they are title contenders, they do not want people to think they made some sort of deal with Croatia. Spain could beat Italy anyway.
