Fantastico match by Russia, totally deserved it! Holland, total football? No, Russia->Total Football
Thank you Russia for giving me a superb match!
Thank you Hiddink coz U just created one of the most extraordinary+exciting team ever witnessed in European championship history!
Thank you Arshavin for making my day, You scored a lot of points for me in Euro fantasy now my cocky brother& my friends cannot catch up with me! hehe
It's just a great day, hope Italy will do well too! Forza Azzuri!
p/s someone mentioned Van dar Sar is the best keeper of the tournament, i strongly DISAGREE. Buffon is!! He kept Italy in the tournament and is on superb form at the moment, he will keep out Torres & Villa tonight.Forza Buffon!

Germany was underdog?

and in my opinion, Turkey beating Croatia was no surprise, Turkey by mile has more talented players, and plus they have a great coach. The way Turkey is qualifying is lucky, and they don't deserve it (Czech and Croatia matches), and plus they are way under performing, they are much much better than this.

Before everyone hops on the Russia bandwagon as tends to happen in this forum after an upset. I just want to say that Russia played decently, nothing spectacular, but they were good enough to win. The main reason for the Dutch demise was the inability of Van der Vaart and Sneijder to make plays. Those two really did not seem ready from the start. I have to give praise to the Russian center backs who did well, though they may not want to use their hands in the box so much against faster forwards. The Dutch basically gave the game away by not adjusting their tactics to the play of the game, but kudos to Russia for seizing the moment. They should really give props to the unsung heroes in the back four.

As for the Arshavin train, I have to say I am not impressed after this match. He was absent for large periods of time and only made a dramatic presence in overtime. I could see why he's been in Russia for so long, it doesn't take much to knock him off he ball and he seemed to become disinterested at times. Some might say, he showed up when needed, but remember this was a Dutch squad with only an OK defense that shut him down for most of the match. It will be interesting to see how he performs against a team that plays better defense.

On the other hand Roman Pavelycenko is the best finisher in the tournament. I think this guy could walk into just about any squad and score. I was very impressed with him.

Going by their form in the group stages,Id say Portugal and Croatia were both favourites for their Quarter Finals.

Russia must have been really unlucky to do well and still lose 10-0:D

You take Roman (who often finds it difficult to the rear end of a donkey with a banjo) for Liverpool, and I'll take Arshavin (shame about the name) for us.

He was by far their most influential player this tournament: he really is having a good one.

Okk first off all ,congrats too all the russia fans here, the team deserved to beat my country, i admit it ,holland played like shit, but don't overreact like Russia is now world class because without Hiddink ,they wouldnt even be at the EC, This guy is the best coach the dutch ever produced and i wish he was our coach instead of vBasten,I feel sorry for VD Sar because he was saving our asses many times. And Russia too play the best and most fun football to watch? I'm sorry but mosty of all they defended with 8 people in front of the goal and we all(i hope most of you guys do) know that if a team doesnt try to play football the dutch can't create a single chance. Now i will be cheering for the Azurri again who are thru thx to Holland ,the team with the best player but with a coach who was affraid to take some risks in this match, Again i want to congratulate the Russians for theyre well deserved victory,Shame for Vd Sar,who was without a doubt the best keeper in this tournament.
Did we watched the same game??? The game you watched Russia were constatly defending, but the game I watched Russia was superior team for the most of the match and had far more better and concrete chances than "attacking Holland". IT's ridicoulus to say that Russians didn't played football in a game where they gave a lesson to Holland how to play football.
