I can say the same thing about you, I don't see the connection between your hate for the EPL, the ENglish national team and the reason you use that their media and their fans make a big fuss about them. Then another thing, I don't support them not only because of their media but also because they are not my home country. It only happens that I live there and I hold the citizenship but as far as I'm concerned I'm still Lebanese.
I don't hate the EPL because of their media, I hate the EPL because it's an overrated league and because every damn person is a fan of Man U or Chelsea. That's irrelevant though, we're talking about national teams and not club teams. Anywho, you say you don't support them because you're Lebanese and that's fine.

Heja Sverige!

They are overrated because their media overrates them same thing about Sweden, their media overrates them. Then again you also hate the English national team for the same reason, so we're talking about the same thing.
You can explain the dislike for a certain league/nation in a simple yet vague way: it's the culture. If you don't like the culture, you probably don't like the team either. It's an accurate but imprecise description, it doesn't tell you what specifically is wrong with it. And that's because it's very hard to nail it down to specifics, it's about your emotional response.

You mean "Italy" fans, not "Italian" fans :D
Yes indeed. :D

It is funny that the non-Italians are the ones who wave the Italian blood flag. Hypocricy at its best.
Very funny. Although I'm sure some Italians subscribe to that thinking as well.

Actually, on the contrary, I abhor English football but don't hate their culture. I could certainly see myself living there one day. Many people are arrogant in their own way, just like my nation.

To me it's a culture thing. Don't like England, culture (especially football culture) is unattractive. Ditto Germany.

I see what's your saying. It just depends on how much the annoyances mean to you. There is a lot of things that annoy me about the United States, but I don't mind some parts of the culture and living here. Hell, very few people know anything about real football here.

Well that's the thing, it's not the "entire" culture, it's just parts of it. So it's a difficult thing to understand.

Er.. no. Whatever that is
ow .. It's a really nice book .. actually called "Brilliant Orange:The Neurotic Genius of Dutch Soccer " by David Winner .. It talks much about how the Dutch culture affected the Dutch national team .. Since you live in the Netherlands I expect that you'd like the book :) ..

I don't care where people play, but rather care about how fans are hypocritical about the whole issue. Germans are much better with this issue than Italian fans it seems.
I would whole-heartedly agree with this observation.

It is funny that the non-Italians are the ones who wave the Italian blood flag. Hypocricy at its best.
Though this is true too.

Of course, this is a sensitive topic for me because this morning I flamed some guy on the Portuguese boards for giving shit to Deco because he did not sing along with the Portuguese national anthem. :(

Sound familiar, Camo haters?

No, it's not culture. It's fans. The England NT and EPL fans are what bug the crap out of me, not England. And perhaps the greater point is that the non-English fans of the EPL and the England NT are the ones that annoy me the most. Many of them in my own country/culture -- the U.S.

So that has nothing to do with their "culture". Rather, it has everything to do with my disdain for a group of lazy, blowhard gloryhounds who hide behind their language xenophobia as a crutch.

Actually, on the contrary, I abhor English football but don't hate their culture. I could certainly see myself living there one day. Many people are arrogant in their own way, just like my nation.
Ditto. I could see myself living in England as well, and there is a lot I like about the culture in England and the people I've met there.
