The difference in talent between the two sides is astronomical, yet the Czechs still held up pretty well. Portugal is just a bunch of great individuals... we'll see how great of a team they are in the later rounds.

The defense looked shaky as hell. And it wasn't just Ferreira this time.

But they're going to be setting fire to things in Lisbon's Marquês de Pombal tonight, baby... :weee:

The biggest difference in this match was one man, Milan Baros. That guy is keen at fucking shit up. I think I counted three scoring opportunities where he just got in the way. Sionko must hate him.

Portugal looked good going forward but they've got to be concerned about the amount of space they give up defensively and the fact that Ricardo can't stop a cross.

Although Milan Baros was causing the Portugal defense loads of problems with his runs, especially in the first half. But yeah, he screws up too many chances.

It really says something that your best player by quite some margin is your keeper.

And I thought Portugal's defense didn't look good at all apart from some Pepe interventions.

It's why most folks on the Portuguese boards were hoping for Quim to start in his place. But wrist injury or not, Big Phil likes his peeps...

It's the same shit he did for Liverpool. Make decent runs through the heart of midfield, but then get in the way of crosses meant for someone else.
