As I have said above starting from the next season gap could be less than 5 pts. Year after that the season 2011/12 wont be accounted for and in case of the similar scenario they would fall behind.

If Italy gets to 16/16.5 this season while England stops at about 14/14.5 and Italy outscores England by 5 pts next year (which is unlikely), Italy will catch up England.
