We don't know how to play in another way at home, we will play a offensive game, It could be Juventus, or Milan, Inter, Catania, or whatever. It suprises-me that you think that, because you seem to see all the games Benfica did, if you didn't understand yet, we're not afraid of Juventus, and almost al Benfica fans wanted to play Juventus, we're not worst than Juventus, only you think that because you saw Benfica B games and think that you will play against the same team that played against AZ. lol
You're much worse than Juve, on paper. Should still be an exciting game as we have a tough time coping with wing play.

Why do you say that? We have a very good defensve, very inteligent and complete midfielders and a strong atack, if portuguese teams are that weak, why are Italy so close of being passed by Portugal? Why Napoli was eliminated by a very weak Porto? Maybe because they had the same mentality... I really hope Benfica show some of you that you're very wrong.

I'm not saying that you don't have a good team, on paper it's just vastly inferior to this Juventus side. There is no issue with mentality here, it's going to be a tough game - but it's in our hands to lose.

Yes, on paper it's true, hope we prove the paper is wrong, that's why football is awesome. :p

Last year against Chelsea we were inferior in the paper to, the truth is we lost, but they were very lucky.

Exactly. Anything can happen over 180 minutes of football, especially when facing a squad brimming with talent like this Benfica side. I wouldn't be surprised if you outshot us over the course of these games, I'm just hoping that we see a concentrated and cynical Juventus, taking advantage of the opportunities we create while trying to destroy your game.

Silva_Grohl, buddy I saw your game and I know yours is a very dangerous side that can punish us on our complacency, and mistakes, but if we play well rested and composed like our last game, then there's little chance for you guys to get past this Juve.
Nevertheless it should be a good game.

People need to stop writing "it should be a good game" at the end of their posts. HAVE YOU NOT SEEN JUVE PLAY THIS YEAR? It's going to be boring as hell. For 180 minutes. I hope I won't fall asleep.

and why are Italy in recent years doing better as a national side than portugal? Besides the original statement was Juve against benfica, not shit stains like crapoli against porto

I think you misunderstood bro. Benfica are a very solid team and most of us rate them as a quality side. In fact, I'd go as far as saying they were personally my favorites for the tournament in the last eight. And if they get past Juve, they'll surely likely lift the trophy too. But yes, if Juve plays to potential, then I would say Juve would be favorites to win over two legs. However, that's not to say that we'll beat you guys comfortably. It's not going to be comfortably by any stretch. There's going to be two really tight games in the offing. :)

Are they? World Cup 2010 Italy stayed in the group stage, Portugal lost against Spain with a offside goal, Euro 2012, Portugal lost against Spain in the penaltys in the semi final, Italy lost 4-1 against the same team in the final... But that's not really a good argue, because Portuguese teams prefer buy brasilian and servian wonderkids, and not work their own that lost the final against Barcelona yesterday, unfortunetly.

I know Juventus is favourite, of course, but I already saw some coments that... seems you'll play against a 3rd division team.

By the way, I think you are interested to know that Benfica will play against Porto in the middle of the two legs against juve.

I've never said you're a weak team. I've stated multiple times that you're the strongest team left in the competition aside from Juve. In fact, can you find one statement in this thread that suggests Benfica is akin to a third division side? I think not. Arouca, is however akin to a Serie B side in Italy. And to suggest that you won't change your tactics at all, going from Arouca to Juventus, just because you're at home, well, it's ludicrous. That's like suggesting that we'll play the same way against you as we did against Livorno the other week. Or away to Trabzonspor.

We don't park the bus like Arouca, hence the reason you won't be able to attack us in the same way. Basic footballing 101.

And stop suggesting you're the only side who hasn't played a full-starting XI in Europa thus far. It's disingenuous... (besides the fact you subbed in those starters you left out in many of your matches) We also haven't played a single match where we started more than 8 of our starters in Europa thus far. SO you're going to see a vastly different Juve if it's our first choice starting XI.

And we play a much easier match in between rounds, against Sassuolo. A terrible side. You best hope you've clinched the title before that Porto match, so you can rest your players.

Anyways, it will be close, everyone is saying that here. But reality is, that Juventus is a stronger side. Does this mean we win? Maybe not, but it doesn't change that fact.

He's just being a dick to the guy and arguing for the sake of it. Portugal has been playing great recently, in both the World Cup and the Euros but that still has nothing to do with Benfica.

He needs to take a bath with his electrical book as far as I'm concerned.
