Alot of people seem they hate italian teams for no reason. Hate them in italian compatitions that is a must but lets happy for them even if they don't play good game. Napoli were very good team and got a good result. Fiorentina won, Juve won. Most of Juve fans are Italy fans too. Napoli, Fiotentina and Lazio are italian teams in European competiton for God sake.

Ah, poor wee Spurs lost.

Only the giants of European football can go to Dnipro and get a positive result:

Think that as poorly as I've seen Napoli play this season.

Still, they got away with it and now have to be huge favourites to go through.

Hard to say there's evidence when nobody seems to be taking this joke of a tournament seriously. (Look at all the benches during matches today.)

An Italian team could easily win this competition if they focused on it as much as they should. We could beat every team currently in this competition, as can Napoli and Fiorentina (though it would be more difficult for them).

I agree completely.

It's so frustrating because Juventus have the talent to win the whole competition, but we're just so bizarrely poor in Europe.

Hate them for no reason !! Almost all of them were extremely happy when Juve were punished and relegated to Serie B, some of you must have a short memory.

Some 10-15 years ago I cared and supported them in Europe but I used to be young and perhaps naive back then. Now I don't give a fock about them wether in Europe or Italy.

I don't feel sorry for them really. If you target the best club in your own country and push hard for an undeserved punishment without 1 single clear evidence thinking only about your own club's interest, then your shooting yourself in the foot. And that's what the Italians did. Italians have only themselves to blame for the state that their clubs have reached and nobody else.

Personally to me I want Juve to be the Bayern Munich of Italian football. A team that dominate so much it's own league and still does well in Europe. And I don't buy the whole theory that your league have to be so strong for you to win European competitions. Real, Barca and Bayern Munich (add PSG recently) are all doing extremely well even though their leagues are somewhat far from reaching the premier league level.

Italian clubs have surely found their comfort zone. I remember when we felt unbeatable back in the days in the CL. How I miss those days. Some of you new Juventinos have yet to experience that. Unlucky.

I'm glad Juve won at least something to celebrate after last night.

Ajax got completly outplayed in every detail and aspect of the game.

Soriano's goal was insane!

Hopefully we are playing a lot of EL matches this season.. this will create more experience and hopefully will make us a better team in the CL next year

Fiorentina look like they might be in the best shape of the Serie A teams to win this, if they start to lose ground on Napoli for 3rd they may well go all in for this. I think if teams get to the QF stage they will focus more on it. We will next round (if we progress) simply because it's Fiorentina, a grudge match, and we know their ability.

At the end of the day, it's Juventus against Trabsonspor, people have every right to be discouraged by the performance despite the win. Winning ugly just doesn't quite cover this one imo, we were lucky with the first goal, lucky the 5th official/linesman decided to rule out their goal (which could easily have stood on another day) and the second goal flattered us to be fair. Their were some atrocious individual performances last night, no need to name names as everyone can draw their own conclusions. That back-line devoid of either Chiellini or Barzagli is a real worry as there's no one really capable of cleaning up Bonucci's mistakes.

Our ethos towards European competition is just unfathomable, how can we be all ''grinta'' and “Vincere non è importante, è l’unica cosa che conta” in the league and then just lose the plot against opposition outside of the league? If there were any doubt we were in trouble of losing our 9 point lead over Roma, then fine I'd understand us fielding a weakened team, but we aren't.

I'm happy with the win, don't get me wrong, it's a decent advantage to take to Turkey, but if we play anything like we did last night in the second leg we'll find it very difficult to progress. Only positive if we get through, is that we'll most likely face Fiorentina and there will (finger's crossed) be more determination to progress as Conte might confuse this for a Serie A game.
