There are two Serbian players and one Croatian clown playing for Zenit. In Hajduk there is a crazy Bosnian and an Albanian player.
Even if the police handles the situation in the stands and outside the stadium, it will be very interesting on the pitch too.

To spice the situation even more, Hajduk has two Palestinian players :D
Please tell me Zenit has an Israeli. :D

Kind of looks bad when a week after Italy cries ill, they allow knife hunting for English families in Naples.
What do you expect, a certain crowd that "cares" only blame foreigners for their problems.

:agree:

There was a fight organised for the World Cup in France between Aberdeen's Casuals and all the other Casual groups in Scotland combined, such was the strength of Aberdeen's mob back then.

Unfortunately, a lot of people were prevented from travelling by the police, so it never happened.
"Unfortunately."

Well, they are Croatian actually. Their father is a Palestinian who came to Croatia to study, married a Croatian woman and stayed. Both of them were born and raised in Croatia.
Their names are Anas and Ahmad Sharbini. Anas was even capped for Croatia.

The name is not something they chose. I'm not sure if they speak Arab at all. Their father was the only one who spoke Arab here. They were born in Croatia, raised, and all the relatives and friends, including their mother, were Croatian.
One of them went to UAE to play football but immediately came back to Croatia.

They know the best how they feel, but I think they'll say they're Croatian if you ask them.

If I go to Saudi Arabia, marry a Saudi woman, live there with her and have children, don't you think they'll be Arab?

It's because we're not used to seeing people with non-Croatian names and surnames playing for Croatia.
In reality it's not any more strange than Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Sweden, Marouane Fellaini from Belgium or Zinedine Zidane from France.

Interesting fact: Anas Sharbini and Gordon Schildenfeld both played/play for the Croatian national team and when they communicate, they do it in their native language-Croatian.
Guess what's interesting about those two? :D

I don't really know. If we're talking sports only, then I guess yes, a good sportist can easily get a citizenship.

Polish outfit Lech Poznan have made the decision to appoint Spanish coach Jose Maria Bakero as the new man in charge at the club. The 47-year-old has signed a contract until the end of the season with the option of a further twelve months.

The Europa League hopefuls were in the market for a new head coach following the recent departure of Jacek Zielinski, who got the sack earlier this week following Poznan's disappointing league performances.

Bakero previously worked as head coach at Malaga B, Real Sociedad and Polonia Warsaw.

"I see many positives within the team, but I would like us to improve in some areas. We want to win every match and play the best football possible. A special thank you is due to the former coach. It is down to his contribution that Lech got into the Europa League," said the Spaniard upon his presentation.

For the betting guys, this might be good info:

"Spaletti and Zenit arrived in Split for tonight's EL match against Hajduk without the best players. Kerzhakov, Danny, Bruno Alves, Bystrov and Zyryanov remained in Russia to get the much needed rest before the last 4 rounds of the Russian championship, in which Zenit leads the table with 6 pts advantage. Hubocan and Shirokov are the other two important missings. They are injured."
- "This match isn't important to us so it might look like we're doing you a favor. For Hajduk this match is to be or not to be and it's up to them to take the advantage" - says the Serbian international Danko Lazovic.

- His colleague Lukovic thinks in a similar way "I would like it if Hajduk is the other team from this group that qualifies together with us. I am glad seeing teams from ex-Yugoslavia going far in european competitions".
---------------
I wonder if I should bet on Hajduk (I have odds 3.40 for home win) or if it's just a trap and Zenit's second team spanks Hajduk.
The current standings are:
1. Zenit St. Petersburg 9
2. Anderlecht 3
3. Hajduk Split 3
4. AEK Athens 3

I'd skip that. Wait for Juve, odds will rise up to 1.50 till the kick off, I believe. Good combo material.

Also, Kiev looks good, trashed 9-0 Ilichivets at home 3 days ago and they're force to be reckon there even in Europe, while AZ isn't that good anymore since their sponsor bankrupt.

I like the overazzo on Lille game. ;)
