I forgot an important name: C. Zanetti. His passing last year was even better than Xavi's.
:howler:

You're kidding right?

Because if you aren't then it just shows how biased you are. Honestly this is no different than Badass saying Palladino is better than C.Ronaldo. To even entertain the thought of comparing Zanetti to Xavi in terms of passing is so far fetched it isn't even funny

This is sig material. You have finally proven that you are almost as biased as Badass.

Lionel Messi's home has been burgled...

Police have issued a statement that they will be questioning the Manchester United midfield, as they were nowhere to be seen between the hours of 19.45 and 21.30. :D
Juve's in pot 2 or pot 3 if Atletico Madrid qualify for next year's Champion's League?
It's still not known. In order to be in pot 2 then only 15 teams of the teams ahead of us can qualify for CL. If 16 of them qualify then we're in pot 3. Atletico are behind us so it makes no difference. Atletico being 4th in Spain is important because that way Villareal (who are placed above us) won't qualify.
These are the standings:

1 FC Barcelona
2 Chelsea
3 Liverpool
4 Manchester United
5 AC Milan
6 Arsenal
7 Sevilla
8 Bayern München
9 Werder Bremen
10 Olympique Lyon
11 Internazionale
12 Villarreal Esp
13 Real Madrid
14 AS Roma
15 PSV Eindhoven
16 Shakhtar Donetsk
17 CSKA Moscow
18 Zenit St. Petersburg
19 FC Porto
20 Sporting CP Lisbon
21 Hamburger SV
22 AZ Alkmaar
23 Benfica
24 Juventus

Which of these teams have certainly qualified and which of them haven't at all and which of them might qualify.

I bet you didn't see him play three games last year.

Zanetti last season was clearly one of our best players and the most similar to Xavi in our team imo. He is far far far closer to Xavi than Palladino to C.Ronaldo :D

Red - certainly won't play
Blue- already qualified

The others will play CL qualificationS.
Milan might play qualifications or they might directly qualify
Villareal will either play qualifications or won't play in CL at all (depends on the last round in Spain where Atletico and Villareal fight for the 4th place and Atletico is 4th at the moment).

I think if we make a good run next year we will get over this shit. Alen, can you provide us the points each team has and how do teams gain points?
It's hard, Cause we didn't play in Europe for two years, and they look for the reuslts of 5 years, so these two years will always decrease the average point. If we do amazing, maybe we will make 15th at most.

Isn't it too early to say that about Zenit?

Unfortunatly Jack, it will get even worse. The points from the last 5 season count. Next year season 2004/2005 won't count (and that was our best season of the last 5 seasons, where we won most points).
Until seasons 2006/07 and 2007/08 are calculated (we didn't play in Europe in these seasons) we will be placed very low.

We start next season at 33rd place. Even if we win CL next year and we win ~30 points, we will still be placed low.

This is how it starts for next season (last 4 seasons and points from next season will be added to this)

No, for Russia last season counts. It's already known there. The winner Rubin and the second placed CSKA from last season go to CL directly while the third placed Dinamo Moscow goes to the qualifiers.

The current Russian season will end in November so it makes it impossible to be counted for CL 2009/2010.

So if Villareal fails to qualify all we have hope for is two of the teams in front of us to get drawn against each other in 3rd round? It's a possibility, so let's hope for best.

Alen, can you providehow do teams gain points?
This one is easy to calculate.

Making it to the CL group stages gives you 3 points
A win in CL and UEFA gives you 2 points
A draw in CL and UEFA gives you 1 point
Making it to another stage gives you 1 bonus point

At the end you also get some points (but not much, around 1 or 2 points) from your country's coefficient.

With an example :

Juve made it to group stages = 3 points
Juve won 3 times in group stages = 6 points (3 wins x 2)
Juve drew 3 times in group stages = 3 points (3 draws x 1)
Juve passed the group = 1 point
Juve drew with Chelsea = 1 point
Italy's coefficient this year was 2.275 points
------------
Total = 16.275 points

That's how many points we won this year. Barca for example won 28.6 points, Manchester won 28 points, Inter won 13.275 points etc.

Exactly :agree:

If Villareal won't qualify then all we need is a Sporting-Shakhtiar in the qualifiers and we make it to pot 2 :)
