Yeah, but Atletico Madrid is a very good team tbh, and i'm not sure if we'll eliminate them if we get them in the 3rd round (i'm sure we'll eliminate any other team from the unseeded teams).

It's a very strong team :

Coupet and Leo Franco are the goalkeepers
Ujfalusi, Heitinga, Antonio Lopez, Pernia, Ibanez, Seitaridis, Perea in defense
Simao, Luis Garcia, Motta, Santana, Maxi Rodriguez, Maniche, Paulo Assuncao, Raul Garcia in midfield
Aguero, Forlan, Reyes in attack.

This team is able to eliminate any of the favorites in the 3rd round. I't will be scary if Atletico is the team we get.
Aguero won't play in the 3rd round, though.
Atletico is such a great team all what is missing in that team is a great couch......

No doubt they are good but Aberdeen gave them a decent game in the UEFA Cup in Madrid last season.

We man marked Aguero (to the point he went off injured at half time :rulz: ) and they only scored from a penalty and a flukey free kick.

While it obviously want to avoid them, I wouldn't be unduly concerned if we play them.

worst-case scenario and we do get Atletico, I think we have the players to see them off easily...but it's always better to get an easier team than them

Past winners wait on Champions League draw, to be held Aug. 1

NYON, Switzerland - Past Champions League winners FC Barcelona, Juventus and Liverpool find out next week who they must beat in a qualifying round to reach this year's group stage.

UEFA will hold an Aug. 1 draw for the third and final qualifying round that will decide which 16 teams join the 16 elite clubs already entered into the lucrative competition.

Five-time champion Liverpool and 2006 finalist Arsenal join the draw knowing that each of the four English clubs in the group stage last season earned at least 16 million euros (C$25.46 million) in appearance money and a share of television rights deals. Additional prize money is given for winning and drawing matches.

Juventus returns to the competition after a two-year absence because of a bribery scandal and is also hoping for a share of the millions at stake.

Losers in the third qualifying round are entered into the UEFA Cup, where last season's winner Zenit St. Petersburg earned less than five million euros (C$7.96 million).

The draw is held before the second qualifying round finishes on Aug. 6. The first qualifying round matches are completed on Wednesday.

The third qualifying round is played Aug. 12 and Aug. 27.

The draw for the UEFA Cup second qualifying round also takes place at Nyon, Switzerland, on Aug. 1.

İnter Bakı (Azerbaijan) - Partizan (Serbia)
Drogheda (Ireland)- Dynamo Kyiv (Ukrain)

Rangers (Scotland) - Kaunas (Lithuania)
Tampere United (Finland) - Artmedia (Slovakia)
Sheriff (Moldova) - Sparta (Czech Republic)
AaB (Denmark) - Modriča (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
Beitar Jerusalem (Israel) - Wisła Kraków (Poland)

Fenerbahçe (Turkey) - MTK (Hungary)
Göteborg (Sweden) - Basel (Switzerland)
Anderlecht (Belgium) - BATE (Belarus)
Anorthosis (Cyprus)- Rapid Wien (Austria)
Panathinaikos (Greece)- Dinamo Tbilisi (Georgia)
Domžale (Slovenia) - Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia)

Apart from Rangers, Fenerbahce, Panathinaicos, Basel and Anderlecht, all the other teams are our potential opponents in the third round.

Edit: Actually, the draw is before the 2nd legs of this round so apart from the 5 mentioned teams we also can't play against their rivals in the 2nd round (Göteborg, Kaunas, Bate Borisov, Dinamo Tbilisi and MTK)

We can get only the bolded teams.

Can't we get Galatasaray?

I heard they are going to play against Juventus,Arsenal,Barcelona etc
in the 2nd round , every country has just one team ,

Fenerbahçe is playing for Turkey ,

i think the draw has some rules , we won't play against english , spanish , dutch , french and german teams !!

i think we might have a chance to face the turkish team , but i'm not 100% sure whether Turkey is in the list i mentioned above !!
