Well, this is how the things go on. You win and everyone praise you, you lose and everyone bash you. Ranieri was to blame for many of his decisions. Yes, we have lots of injured players but still we are supposed to be strong enough to beat Palermo in our stadium. Both Ranieri and the players were to blame for our poor form and they both are to admire for the recent form.

Have a look at the results here:

You, me, Jack, Alen and even v1rtu4l were among the ones who wanted Ranieri to be fired. The only ones who stood at his side were Secco and Lampard :D
That was in affect, though.
If we lose 5 matches in a row and if Del Piero plays awful on those 5 matches, i'm pretty sure many new topics will pop up about replacing Del Piero with younger blood.
In some related poll, there will be members voting for replacing Del Piero.

Here we're talking about the ones who keep talking about firing Ranieri's ass ever since we got him. Good results, bad results, they keep talking about firing him.
Of course, when we won't win a match, or god forbid lose two in a row as we did in October, have ears and listen to them bragging how they knew it all the time that Ranieri is a cancer and how we, the losers, have no idea about football.

:agree: But there are a few ones on this forum who keep bashing CR even in good results. The point is that it's not only about getting good results, we have also showed great performances recently and Ranieri is the one who should be given credit for it the most.

I don't know if i can agree with this.
Roma, Bologna, Torino and Real were in crisis afterall, and Del Piero+Nedved played great and were the ones who really brought us all those wins.

Is Chievo in crisis as well? :weee:
0-3-6 in their last 9 serie A matches.

Lucky old man :smoke:

Really, it's a win-win situation for some of our members. If we win then we did it because Chievo are in deep crisis. If we lose or draw it will show how bad Ranieri is to lose from a team in crisis.

Lampard will kill you :p
That guy doesnt count, he is almost as biased as the likes of Cronios. Because he doesnt just defend Ranieri when he gets exaggerated criticism as its common (some desperately wants to find ways to flame him), but he defends him at ALL TIMES. No flexibility, just supporting him no matter what.

And I can give Ranieri some of the credit he deserves. But I watch the games with my own eyes, and can judge what kind of coach he is and what Juve needs in my opinion. And making good tactical choices and winning big games like in CL so far, its well and good, but it doesnt change the big picture of that he is not good enough for Juve, and we should part ways next season. Thats the bottomline, and ALOT of improvement needs to happen for one to consider changing that stance about him.

and yet Ranieri has done admirably to cope with all of that, something he isnt given credit for(beyond jack and alen) around here.
And well done to Ranieri. He has got this team well organised and fighting hard for each other.
Ranieri also needs some credit.

Our defence's offside trap is outstanding. We hold such a high line and stay nice and narrow that it is very congested in midfield. It means that Sissoko can go rampaging around in front of them making sure no-one has time time to pick a pass over the top.

Ranieri has done very well in both seasons in Serie A to get a defensive system which involves minimal defending individually and is all about being disciplined and masking the limited ability of some of our defenders.

You were saying, Fred.

I don't think I have ever truly bashed Ranieri. I think I know enough about football to realise that Ranieri wasn't/isn't the only cause of our problems. That said, I do not believe he's the right coach for us. He's a good coach for a midtable team, but he does not handle the pressure of having to win very well. From time to time he makes odd decisions and annoys players and that might become a problem. Right now everything is going well, but I wouldn't be too surprised if we start losing again.

In the end though I think it's quite obvious that we should allow Ranieri to work in peace right now. He has won a couple of big games so let him be.

You are still not getting my point it seems, we are not disagreeing just not focusing on one issue from the same angle. I was always against big spending, one of the biggest reasons why I wasn't bashing our transfer policy, unlike many. We spent few and yet we ended up with a better squad than the big spenders Fiorentina. (Also many wished to have Fiorentina's staff instead of ours). Furthermore, we ended having a slightly better coach and we simply did much better than they did in the most important tournament.
You do reallize that we've spent more than 100 million euros in the past 2 seasons alone !! Other than sissoko and amuari who did really impress from all those players we've signed ?

As for fiorentina almost all the players that they've signed this summer impressed with the exception of vargas. Felipe melo, jovetic, gilardino those three players impressed for sure Plus all of them are still young and have many years ahead of them. Fiorentina definately have done a better job in the market.
