We’ll cope without Shev, say Milan Wednesday 23 February, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan are confident they can get a result at Manchester United despite the absence of star striker Andriy Shevchenko.

The Golden Ball winner is out of tonight’s Champions’ League clash with injury but boss Carlo Ancelotti is remaining optimistic.

"We will feel his loss but my team has everything that is needed to do well even without him," said the tactician.

The Rossoneri go into the game having caught Juventus at the top of the table, but recent performances have been inconsistent.

"I’m not that worried about our form because it is by playing in arenas such as this one which allows a team to fully focus.

"They will try to impose their game on us but we must just look to keep hold of the ball as best we can."

While Milan are without Shevchenko, Man Utd are expected to welcome back Ruud Van Nistelrooy from injury.

"He is a great player but we shouldn’t be too worried," added the former Juventus boss. "We expect to be troubled defensively but that should allow us more space to counter attack."

Old Trafford brings back some good memories for the Italian side, seeing that they beat Juventus in the Champions’ League Final there two years ago.

"The past counts for nothing," stated Ancelotti. "This game is all that matters now and I’m sure it will be a match of the highest quality."

Milan (probable): Dida; Cafu, Nesta, Maldini, Kaladze; Seedorf, Pirlo, Gattuso; Kaka, Rui Costa; Crespo.

:D Did you like seeing the '©best team in the world ever' absolutely played off the pitch?
Looks like wad I said to my fren + wad the Bayern coach said is rite after all. IMHO even Campbell prescene doesn't make much of a difference.

Hehe they were absolutely atrocious, even the Italian commentators were making an effort to make their attacks seem interesting. "Non e finita" as they are passing the ball around in a handball formation, completely clueless about how to play the ball. :D

Looks like Arsene Wenger had such a drastic defeat to swallow, and he cautioned European teams to be wary of them. But Bayern managed to slash them with such a scoreline in juz the 1st leg.

As much as I dislike Arsenall, I can't help but feel that with Campbell fit, 2-0 in Highbury is not exactly impossible. I might be a bit put out about that, but I think watching you lot backpedal would be quite sufficent compensation then. 3-1 away to a top European side, when missing your key defender. Man, I hope that never happens to Juve...

I dont think so, its very hard to stop Bayern Munich from scoring, and Arsenal suck, even with Campbell at set-pieces right now!
Oh, I don't see it as likely, but it's not over.

On the other hand, I think Leverkusen have a decent chance at overturning their 3-1. Liverpool are not consistant enough to perform like that home and away.

That's the dumbest comment I have ever read on this forum.
Not really. The dumbest comment ever on this forum was when you said it does not take any skill to dribble around a whole defense, just like Zlatan did. That is fvcking stupid. :howler:
