i would take Eto'o anyday.. no disrespect to Trezeguet but he is 30 already and i don't think he can perform like this in the upcoming seasons..

but TBH i think it's all media bullshit because Barcelona got far more better offers..

Why are people so keen to doubt Trez?

Trez relies on neither pace nor stamina.

He has at least 3 goods seasons left in him.

His striking rate is not phenomenal.Stats alone do not tell the story.Eto is not one of the best in the world by any means. His goals/season ratio looks good because he has players like Messi,Iniesta,Deco etc behind him.For every goal that he scores,he missed 3 chances. When you have such creative players in your midfield, you will score lots of goals, but that does not mean that you are great.Had someone like Trezeguet or RVN been in Eto's place, they would have scored much more goals than him.Frankly,i dont see Eto scoring as many goals with us.Our midfield does not boast of the same creativity that Barcelona's midfield does, and Eto will struggle to score with any team that does not give him tons and tons of chances, for he needs them to get one goal in.And no,im not talking about this season alone.Im talking about his entire Barcelona career.Eto has always been an average finsher. The fact that his midfield gives him countless chances is what makes him look good.

Overrated player. Not worth the money. At best,he is a good player.Trezeguet is his daddy.
I never thought I would say this to you, but you couldnt sound more clueless ;)

Eto'o overrated? Eto'o dribbles past three players every single time he gets the ball, and he's overrated? He has about 70 goals in 100 appearances for Barcelona... and he's overrated? Trezeguet has about 125 goals in 200 appearances... is he overrated?

I mean give me a break. If Eto'o is overrated, a player who is much, much more than just goalscoring capability, unlike TREZEGUET, I don't know who isn't fucking overrated.

Just more biased hate towards Barcelona players for inane reasons.

I'd love to see Eto-bread in a two striker system. Talk about magic.
Especially someone such as Trezeguet or Torres... strikers that actually stay around the six and goal poach. That's the only reasonable complaint against Eto'o, that he doesn't get into difficult positions around goal much to head a cross in.

In a two striker system he wouldn't need to goal poach. He could do his dribble through three defenders and either pass or shoot. And then play reserved on crosses and set pieces. I imagine he'd make a very good withdrawn/second striker.

Talking from a pure finishing perspective..

Is Eto half as good as Trezeguet? No he isnt. His overall game is more complete. You can call him a more versatile player, but claiming that his finishing is spectaular is silly. With all this other skill on one side..Eto is NOT a great finisher.

Your argument makes no sense. You say Eto'o isn't half as good as David, but then go on to say Samuel is the better all around player. So what, are we counting finishing twice as much the amount of everything else a forward should do?

It's strange you haven't even checked the stats. Eto'o actually has a higher strike rate than David. But I suppose that doesn't matter. So what are we basing this rating on?

if Eto comes, he will play in DP role, and we have to find new replacement for Trez, like Hunter....and this is really would be great instead of Amauri saga....but i don't think something like this will happen.
