Fatman and Robin?

---------- Post added 15.08.2012 at 22:21 ----------

"We are not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We invest in players who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club and the excitement for our fans. We are good at that and we are going to continue that way."

Fergie is reacting to City in the only way he knows how - attack.

De Gea;
Valencia (could be a good RB), Jones, Vidic, Evra;
Carrick, Cleverley;
Kagawa;
Van Persie, Nani;
Rooney

backups: Rafael, Smalling, Ferdinand, Scholes, Fletcher, Giggs, Young, Welbeck, Chicharito.

Fucking damn good team and squad. United can be scary this year

Kagawa, Rooney and RVP have to play, so that would suggest a front three, but then Young, Valencia and Nani are going to struggle. Man Utd simply have too shit a CM to play with only two there, the side will be horribly imbalanced.
It's crazy that Man Utd have signed two players (Van Persie and Kagawa) for areas where they are already strong, while they continue to neglect their CM where they have looked very weak for a long time.

Just means that they'll be able to thrash teams at home, but as soon as they play a decent team who actually has the balls and the ability to really take Man Utd on, Man Utd will not be able to control the game because they will be overrun in midfield.

That'll expose their iffy defence and mean their impressive attack won't get the ball very much.

Have they even been linked with any CMs?

Stuff can still happen, but most of the time it's a move that has been rumoured coming to fruition, rather than someone completely out of the blue.
